It sounds like it’s coming from right between the firewall and engine. So top portion of the trans area. I’m going to get it up on ramps today and do the same thing.
Make sure your DPs are properly secured and aren’t touching anything causing a ticking/tapping. Its a long shot, i know, but something to check while on ramps.
Joe, you should’ve mentioned this when we met the other day. My ears are particularly good. 
I actually think it might have went away. I can’t hear it anymore. Nothing in vag com besides my massive list of short to ground codes from an issue I’ve been hunting down and can’t find for a solid year now
