What are your favorite and most helpful tools?

Maddog, those are some good brands you listed. I’ve been buying SK for years and they are really good quality. I just picked up a big screwdriver set made by Williams that is top notch. I’m starting to look at Wera and Wiha as well.

I’d like to mention this German tool site: http://www.kctoolco.com/
They have ‘tool of the day’ sales every day with good discounts. I’ve always been told to buy tools when you find a good deal instead of when you need them.

My favorite tool is probably any of my Makita 18v power tools. I love both of the impact wrenches a lot and the hammer drill is pretty excellent.

I really like my snapon digital torque wrenches too. Very good investment so far but not something I would bring to the track.

Anyone have recommendations for air compressors that don’t cost a fortune? I need something with at least 30 gallons capacity for walnut blasting the intake valves. Other than that I will only be using it for the occasional tire fill. Are the big box store brands worth a shit? I’d say budget is max $600

I have the 29 gallon Central Pneumatic one from Harbor Freight. With air compressors you have be careful what voltage that they use. Mine uses 110V and others use single phase 220V, three phase 220V, or 460V. It works great but I am anal about changing my compressor oil every six months. Use it for just about everything air powered since it is quieter than other compressors. My next air compressor will be a single stage 220V screw type air compressor.

Started to pic up some tools from sonic tools, so far I’ve been happy with their stuff and it’s very well organized

You can find good used professional grade compressors on craigslist for cheap.

I love these EZ-Red torx and hex bits that fit into a 10mm 13mm and 17mm wrench to get into those super tight spots.

Running in a close second are my Snap-On digital tq wrenches (3/8" & 1/2"), comes with the ability to do NM, ft lb, in ft, angle and a few other options that I never use.

Just ordered a set of those, thank you for the cheap find!

You are welcome. I hope you find them as useful as I did. I know doing suspension and exhaust work, these wrenches are key for me.
