Joe, that thread made me sick to my stomach. Those guys are unreal. Let’s really examine what these RS4 owning geniuses are telling you:
- RS4power is saying that the Capristo isn’t that bad because it made only slightly less than ‘no catback’. Does he think no catback on a dyno is going to mean a lot? I think he’s confusing this with the benefits of running no downpipes/no catback at the dragstrip, which willl help you accelerate faster due to no downpipe/cats restriction, no catback restriction + the overall 90 lbs of weight dropped. Why he thinks going from the 2.35" OEM downpipe neckdown to no catback would be a big ‘win’ on the dyno is confusing. Anyway, Joe referred to the JHM 2.75", very smoothe bends, x-pipe crossover catback. Who cares about what stock or the terrible milltek design can do??? Joe mentioned JHM vs. Capristo…not Capristo vs. stock. Instead, RS4power attacks Joe for not having an RS4 once he realises he’s not getting anywhere and can’t argue the truth (JHM’s results, nevermind the few hp dyno ‘proof’). He can’t win with facts, so instead he’ll insult a 21 year old for not owning the ‘supercar’ RS4…which is now a 5 year old car that can be had from $30,000 lol.
So to summarize RS4power’s contribution: Capristo beat a) terrible milltek and b) stock catback, by a marginal amount. It also was only slightly worse than no catback. And this is all on a dyno which proves nothing about being faster, and has a margin of error that could explain away part, if not all, of the gains. (oh…and for a laugh, RS4 power finally woke up and bought 2.75" catback (MTM). Wow…lots of money from $4,000 Capristo to $2,500 Milltek to $4,500 MTM. Seeing a trend here?)

RS4power assumes that because a company makes parts for $250,000+ exotic cars, they must be good. That's like the 'my mechanic knows how to install a clutch/short shifter...he works on Porsches' argument. Shiny floors and flashy marketing do not make cars fast. Good parts do. If they have shiny floors and the cars are faster, that's great. But if they are not proven to do a damn thing vs. other options at 1/3 the cost...what have you got? RS4 power is showing us his thought pattern again: if it's big money it must be good'

Ben STI proves he thinks Audi owners like Suby owners might be fooled by his rhetoric. He tells the OP that piggies+capristo makes only slightly less power than JHM 2.75" fullback? Is he high? He watched Mick’s JHM 2.75 car dyno 360+ whp right in front of his eyes, more than any NA dyno posted by any member of any forum ANYWHERE. Then he goes on to say that the $3000 JHM fullback using 2.75" stainless all the way through is not much cheaper than the Capristo, (which is $4000 for just a catback). Ummm…ben, what happens when you add downpipes to the Capristo? Oh yeah…it’s now double the cost of the JHM fullback. Oops.

BenSTi and RS4power use words like ‘savvy’, ‘exclusivity’ (3 times) and ‘intelligent’ in describing RS4 owners and their wants. Are these guys for fucking real? Again, it’s becoming very clear…these guys are posers who are trying to buy envy from the rest of the forum…and when they instead get slapped in the face with facts, they cry and freak out. Then they say things like ‘go back to the B6 forum where you belong’. Add ‘classy’ to the list lol. Sure, that would make life easier for these guys who are just flat clueless. If all the smart people left the room, they’d look pretty sharp.
Most ironic part is Benjamin Tobias Steigerwald saying RS4 owners are intelligent. Ummm…he’s an RS4 owner, and last time I checked, he’s a 21 year old who blows engines (6 in 18 months), street races, has a dozen speeding and reckless driving tickets, and has filmed his own speedo while going 170-180+ mph on a public highway. Then, he posts it all on the internet. Might be time to let Pam and Dan know how ‘intelligent’ their son is.
