Why no turbo for b6/b7?

I agree if the supercharger kits were indeed 15,000 the jhm kit is about half of that so it really become more impressive at that point. When you add the the jhm blower is good for well past 700whp it takes the turbo out of the equation for me. Big boost no lag

yup There were a few that blew before they settled on a good power figure to sell to the public. There was lots of testing that went into the end product. I remember reading people getting upset it was taking so long. In the end I know no one wants to wait but EVEN more then that no one wants to blow there motor.

There are actually 5+ turbo kits out there that JHM has made. Of that 3 of them are over seas on project cars. I don’t know the details of that other then people over seas with lots of money and time.

Watch that all the way to the end. Thats my car the TT car.

So why no turbo. In the end. The Custom JHM Votech blower will support over 700whp with no lag.
First test run on the 034 dyno on the same day as a race gas tial 770car. The tial car made 478whp on race gas big ICs ICE on the intake all kinds of bells and whistles.

The 91 octane JHM Stage 1 blower with no tune restriction made 505whp. No intercooler No race gas no tricks. That car was crazy fast. Racing a few friendly B5 friends resulted in bad news for them. The Supercharger is instant boost and it climbs smooth with the RPM. So you can still make strong power and not loose the usability of having a 500whp car.

The JHM supercharger kits get detuned down to about 405-450whp to keep the motors alive. With people getting built motors this year the open power of the Vortech unit will start to show the real power potential.

So price wise when you look at it. The Vortech unit is much more cost effective. The 15k price tag for a Supercharger kit is going to cause issues for many if you ask me. With the JHM unit for the RS4 coming in WELL below that I think that will help drive more advancement.

Having driven both. I like the Supercharger on the 4.2 more then the turbos. Its hard to explain. While the supercharger is less violent its much stronger when you let it loose. You don’t have to wait for the power and the power is urgently available. With no lag there isn’t that rush like with the turbo but you can feel the car moving out and never loosing steam with the supercharger.

Can’t wait hehe

That video was ridiculous, so many great sounding cars

The scene with you car was awesome…perfect music as well. Are there any videos of it moving…if not was it as fast or faster than 91’s car

Noting is faster then 91s car

I don’t have video of driving. I do have video of the huge hole in the side of the block and the 8 quarts of oil on the road after I decided to turn up the boost from common sense to comical lack of sense

from common sense to comical lack of sense is a good line

x2, thats a great one

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that video. How the fuck did I miss that?

About how long until the built motor cars are up and running?

Same here. LOVE the choice in music at the beginning when introducing some of the members. LOL!

first off i need that TT setup so frikin bad!!! and secondly my car needs to be in the video lol!!!

and wow i have never seen this video i need to be more observant

awesome video, i would love to see some more on that turbo setup.

I think the point was screw the turbo setup, I think too many guys are hung up on the sound of BOVs. The amount of power the supercharger makes all the way through the RPMs is amazing…and the built motors are gonna be crazy!! The JHM supercharger is just such a great set up and is a fabrication work of art, someday I will have one. Just need to figure out how to trick my wife into letting me buy it ???

Tell her it is a maintenance item, as your engine is suffocating and needs to get more air

you were busy using black-polish on your unpainted lowers

I love nothing more than that blow off sound…

Amen to that brother!!!

funny…i love nothing more than a high revving german V8 sound

here’s a video for both of us…

comming from someone tah built several LSX mtoros with turbos. The V8 will be much better off with the Supercharger. If you get a chance to ride in a Supercarger car Vs a turbo V8 its much different feel. You can get the blow off valve in a Supercharger its just a little more loud.

Very nice, I am jealous of that v8 sound.

Haha…2010…those were the a4 days.
