The Bentley eBahn site is down so I cannot access the wiring diagrams, but I found a document I had saved about fuses and what they control. Fuse 5:

G70 - Air mass meter
J299 - Secondary air pump relay
N80 - Activated charcoal filter system
solenoid valve 1
N112 - Secondary air inlet valve
N144 - Left electrohydraulic engine
mounting solenoid valve

Hope that helps.

When my fuse 3 in that box was frying, it was the HPFP. I found it by disconnecting things on that loop, the HPFP being the first since it was easy to get to.

Did you find the culprit frying the fuse? Does the car run now?

12.83 seems to be low voltage, when was the battery replace/tested/charged?

Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42)
P0113 - 002 - Signal too High - Intermittent

Can’t find much on this, it may be wiring it may be the sensor.

Short to Plus (from VAGCOM):

Testing for Short to Positive.

Prerequisites:

  • Ignition is off
  • Disconnect the component(s) connector(s)
  • Check wiring diagram and make sure no other components are on the circuit
  • Disconnect the controller connector
    Testing details:
  • Set Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) to DC Voltage
  • One DVOM meter probe to battery negative (-)
  • Other probe to wire connection that is being tested (either end)
  • Wiggle the harness
  • Voltage is less than 0.2-Volts is acceptable
    Repair details:
  • Search and find the wire short and repair
  • Or install an overlay harness

I would suggest spending some time googling what you are seeing, then you could take charge of the problem and at least eliminate some possibilities.

no luck yet, toasted fuse again. installed a 20amp (I understand its not wise) to see if anything changes and i can only get the N276/N290 fuel metering code to remain with shit driveability. i am now in process of testing for shorts in harness. Thank You for your help really helps to have othwer thoughts on it.

Some of them are hard to get to. If you have then you have a harness problem. Is this a garage queen or daily driver? Do you have any issues with rodents where you park?

Disconnecting will eliminate whatever is at the end of the harness, but if something has chewed through, then you have more of a challenge. Unfortunately electrics are not my forte, so resistance and ohms and stuff like that is much harder for me to deal with.

the only constant after replacing the#5 fuse is the fuel press metering valve code= HPFP, which i swapped out with a known good one. shes a daily. I have 2 2008 S6’ 1 daily and 1 parts. Thankfully im outta work on comp due to accident, I am now missing 3 fingers… Makes it hard to do anything

When I was popping fuse 3 in that box it was my Driver HPFP.

Three - cripes. That must have freakin’ hurt like hell.

Hopefully you can rehab enough to get some of your function back…

Honestly not as much pain as you would think, 3rd to 5th days were worst. Done the rehab thing nothing good came out of it, 5 surgeries later and 2 1/2yrs, still cant hold wrench or ratchet in hand. It is what it is… On a good note car is fixed, she runs Great now.Issue came when I had been messing around in trunk and noticed fuse #6 black fuse holder had no fuse but both terminals in place…Listed as (not used) in book and erWin schematic… So as most would think install fuse, Wrong thing to do. created a short in harness somewhere??? removed and now she runs BUENO… Thank You for your help and insight… Much Appreciated…

Wait what? I’m showing same codes. What was your solution? I will do anything to avoid forking out for new effing HPFPs
