11.88@115.9x mph. 1.71 60ft. 78F/97% humidity

First time at track as stage 2. Okay results?

GIAC stage 2 ecu/tcu, drilled oem intake/Afe filter. No weight reduction, i did not prep anything, half tank of approximately 38% ethanol and 97octane, 100 octane RACE mode. 41psi all around.

Time slip to follow (on phone at the moment). I did not cool down the car, i arrived as is, registered, and went straight to the lane. Very little cars there because of the possibility of rain. Well, it rained, but i was able to get one run. Oil temp was 224F if it gave you an idea of how humid/warm it was when i ran. Ill be going back Sunday for additional runs (since it was postponed the rest of the night). I feel like i can get down to 11.6@117-118mph on OEM 19" S5 rotor wheels.

Lol 11.88 @ 115.9 with no weight reduction and 1/2 tank okay? Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty damn good. Looking forward to the slips. What was your 60’? What was DA?

Great time.

I apparently didn’t quote the right humidty…

temp 78F
Humidity 92%
Dewpoint 75F
Pressure 30.03 in rising
Track elevation 50ft

DA 1544ft according to dragtimes calculator.

to clarify on my octane, I filled it up with 6 gallons of E85 (sweet spot, no lean codes), 10.1 gallons of 93 octane, ran the 100 octane GIAC race. Calculated ethanol content is 38%, calculated octane is 97, so I’m running 3 points less than the recommended.

Again, no weight reduction, 41psi all around, used the GIAC 4,000rpm LC. I figured out on the B8.5 that if you use LC with just one press of the TCS (sport mode) that it does not spin the tires. However, if you do the long press of the TCS button until the center display reads “OFF”, then I get useless crazy wheel spin using LC (tested on the street). 60ft time was 1.771 and was my only launch of the day without getting the opportunity to try a different method. The DSG upshifted at 5,500rpm from 1-2 though, not sure why?? But there is more to be had with the car if I cooled it down and more than likely used a different launch method, or mixed in straight 100 octane with the 1/2 tank I had left.

lets try the photo link again…

loe those are great results. GIAC is very consistant and has great results

as for loading pictures on the site you can do it like this

easy

forgive me, not tech savvy lol. Thanks all, I’m going back Sunday to get some more runs in. I may mix in some 100 octane, but I’m inclined to not do so as I wanted to run as I would in daily driving, and the 6 gal E85/10.1 gal of 93 octane on the GIAC RACE file is what I run daily. All in all, this car is so smooth/creamy feeling going down the track that it felt more like a Camry. I have no visible mods, stock exhaust, and my friends comment on how quiet the car was running down the track that they couldn’t believe it was an 11 second car.

Loe, I’d say you did pretty good… lol Very nice time for so little done to the car… Looking forward to seeing what it does with a little more prep… Given your results wonder if the e85/pump fuel blend is better than running race gas?

It was an easy 11, almost too easy. The car loves the ethanol/93 mix. The GIAC is strong and i think im near the S5 record with very little done.

lots of people do too much to these cars. We’ve seen the bulk of the performance comes from tune/pulley(s)/intake and the next chunk (much smaller) comes from lw rotating parts like wheels/tires/rotors/crank pulley/flywheel.

Headers?
Exhaust?
Test pipes/HFC?

These are somewhat supernumerary based on the tunes that are on the market from APR/GIAC/REVO/EPL/ASP/UNITRONIC/SOLO (those last 4 were hard to write without laughing).

I say that’s a pretty good time for just a tune! Nice to see more s5’s going to the strip now. I always wondered how the 3.0t s5’s would stack up against the s4… Would like to see a dual pulley s5 with some lw parts

Agreed with saki, bulk of the performance comes for those parts. Exhaust and headers/test pipes are more personal preference/for enjoyment…

Good info! Hoping the DA drops closer to sea-level moving forward with the cooler air coming. I’m crossing my fingers and hopefully drop my 1/4 mile by .2 (11.681?) and gain 1-2mph (116.93-117.93mph?), who knows, may happen ;D

11.6 @ 118 is certainly attainable for your car with better DA. But I think you’d need MUCH better DA.

Does your track ever run at night? Maybe 10pm on a January night would get your DA into the 0 feet range. That should help a ton.
