18x9.5 et43

So I may be trading my A8 flat fives for a set of 4 18x9.5 et43. From my research, it looks like they should fit without problems. I’m a little hesitant about clearance in the front, not so much concerned about the rears. My current setup is 18x8.5 et45. With an extra 1" up front, that splits 1/2" out and 1/2" in from current spec’s, I don’t know if they’ll clear everything. I have coilovers, so height isn’t a problem. Anybody have any wisdom on a 9.5" up front?

you can do 9.5 up front but I am pretty sure you have to roll the fenders, theres a avant that did it. Heres the link. Other than that I’ve never seen anyone else do 9.5" in the front. You could always go staggered, 9.5 rear and 8.5 up front. I’m pretty sure that can be done without rolling the fenders.

jesus…you’ll eliminate your tune + downpipes performance with monster heavy wheels/tires. What’s the attraction?

Not if you buy BBS  My new 19x8.5’s are apparently only 26lbs, I think thats pretty good for a 19" and I think thats how much my stock 17" sport wheels are.

So whatis the optimal weight, and what would the limit be for the heaviest someone should go with performance in mind on the 3.0?

sub 20lbs, 17" with a 40 tire unless your brakes dont fit then 18"

150lbs for all 4 wheels and tires is ideal

That’s what I figured I’d have to do. At the very least remove the fender liner screw. As far as performance, I’m not all that concerned. Hell, I don’t have any JHM stuff yet, and I’m not concerned.
The appeal is that I wouldn’t have to worry about staggered tires, I can rotate front to rear and side to side if I want. Believe me, I’d rather the 8.5 width front and rear, but he’s only got a set of matching 9.5’s for a straight trade.
I’ve been through Audizine’s wheel thread and there are a few people with similar specs and lower offsets which pokes more, so I’m pretty sure it’ll work, and I have 5mm spacers if need be.

true, but:

a) 26 lbs isn’t exactly light. Not bad though
b) 18x9.5 will lbe way heavier (all else being equal). Think about it…addin an inch of diameter means more spoke. Adding an inch of width means more barrell…and that’s the weight of the wheel.

I’m not worried about weight.

im looking at some VMR rims but idk how big i should go? will "19’s still give me some clearance? and will they look too big? or should i roll with the "18’s?

What sort of clearance are you looking for

this is my car sitting on 19’s

Stock suspension or no? Actually looks really good.

Thank you…Bilstien shocks and H&R springs

i just wondered if my wheels would rub when turning. does it make your car sit a little lower as well?

Well I haven’t had any issues with rubbing…it all depends on the offset and the width if you rub. A lot of people run 19’s without any issues, I think they fill out the arches nicely. The only way for a wheel set up to make your car sit lower is to have the circumference smaller than stock. My car sits sllightly lower than stock due to the H&R Coils.
