2000 Audi A6 C5 4.2L V8

Well I think I found the color I like so I went ahead and hot tanked the s6 valve covers, cleaned them to like new, 1200* Primer, 1200* Paint, 1200* Clear. All are “gas and oil resistant”. Well see how it holds.

Anyway what do you think about the color. I really like it. I think it looks nice with the coil pack adapters and will look clean with the black coil packs instead of red ones…

You know what’s funny? I don’t care about karma either and definitely haven’t given you any negative. Normally it is other members that don’t even post in the thread that just don’t like the way a member is acting and decide to dish out the negative karma.

If you are in fact as innocent as you claim, just learn from us. Know that there are weasel everywhere out there and even recommending them can look horrible to people that know what they are really up to.

Vin, I have a little first hand knowledge in a very similar situation, so I feel I have to make a comment. I want to say that the people on this forum are GENUINELY here to help. They are not offering help with ulterior motives, as you will find elseware. So before you make any reply, just keep that in mind.

First, drop the lies/double talk. When you get caught you will lose all integrity and respect around here. I noticed a couple instances earlier with you when you joined, but I never mentioned anything in the sake of keeping the peace. Saki called you out on this particular matter, as he absolutely should, since it involves the livelyhood of the core members of this community.

A little background in my situation… I purchased a JHM tune for my 2000 A6 4.2 6speed. No one else offerend a tune, likely because the market was very small, and there was no profit in it. JHM finally came through, after I showed a real interest in the product. The price they charged me was on the level of a standard tune, not custom (i.e. very reasonable and more than fair). I still feel they did this more as a favor to the C5 V8 community, than which to make a profit.

I installed the tune and immediately the car performed much better. However, it was still not performing as I hoped it would, showing less then expected numbers on the dyno, and experiencing issues in between shifts. Keep in mind, I had an S8 intake manifold, and ported S8 heads and cam, along with hi flo cats, aftermarket clutch and shifter, and 2.5 exhaust. With all the ‘right’ parts in place, I shifted my focus to the tune. It must be the problem, right? JHM responded, and put me in direct communication with the Tuner. The Tuner spent countless hours on the phone with me diagnosing my car, even though I had spent a relatively small amount on the tune. Guess what??? The tune was flawless. The issue was elsewhere (in the cheap plastic parts of the OEM Audi intake manifold, to be exact, and a lack of clutch swith), and the JHM guy helped me figure out the root cause of all the issues. Something no one else (i.e. garage, internet forum users, etc.) were able to do. He helped not because he had too, but because it was in his nature. Time he could have been spending with his family, he spent with me on the phone long distance, sorting out issues on my 13-year old Audi, rust bucket. And this is the same guy, who spends countless hours perfecting these JHM/APR/other tunes, that are being stolen and re-distributed by Dillenger.

If you find a strong backlash around hear when there is the faintest sniff of Dillenger, there is good reason. The guys who are core to this forum, and essential to the developement of the aftermarket Audi performance market, are the nearest and dearest members of this community. They are stellar people, and you either support them, or you don’t.

Hey Guys,

Wondering if any of you can help me out. I am wondering if the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is also known as the Crank Position Sensor? Does anyone know where it is located?

Also, does anyone know if the 1.8T fuel rail has the same injector spacing size as the 4.2L. Would two of these fit?
My heart tells me they are the same but my gut says ask others first.

I want to apologize if I pissed any of you off. I am not the type to steal or take short cuts. I did not know what ddillenger was all about. Im glad you guys made me aware. I guess I just got caught up talking to the wrong person. Im innocent lol. Im just really into my car. I love it. Yes I may do some stupid unnecessary stuff to it but I love to experiment and learn. Pretty much I just wanted to say I hope there are no hard feeling. Im not running any tunes. Im not about stealing other people hard work. If I want it that bad ill pay for it.

Also found that the 1.8T rails setup is indeed the same as the 4.2L…

Does this sound right for testing VSS signal?

Verify that Pin 54 of the ecu goes to connector a180. From there it goes to the blue 32 pin plug on the cluster, and connects to pin 3 which is white and blue. Verify continuity between these two pins to ensure the ecu receives the proper VSS signal!
