2000 Audi A6 C5 4.2L V8

Guys,

I want to apologize if I pissed any of you off. I am not the type to steal or take short cuts. I did not know what ddillenger was all about. Im glad you guys made me aware. I guess I just got caught up talking to the wrong person. Im innocent lol. Im just really into my car. I love it. Yes I may do some stupid unnecessary stuff to it but I love to experiment and learn. Pretty much I just wanted to say I hope there are no hard feeling. Im not running any tunes. Im not about stealing other people hard work. If I want it that bad ill pay for it.

So I just wanted to take the time out and express myself.

Hey Guys,

Wondering if any of you can help me out. I am wondering if the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is also known as the Crank Position Sensor? Does anyone know where it is located?

Also, does anyone know if the 1.8T fuel rail has the same injector spacing size as the 4.2L. Would two of these fit?
My heart tells me they are the same but my gut says ask others first.

Thanks in advance for any input…it is appreciated.

PS- I would like to move on from the past post and get the thread back on track. I do take all your response serious and agree with you guys in the end.

No problem dude, and no need to apologize. Same thing happened to me, more or less, so don’t feel bad about it. The guys here filled me in the same way everyone is filling you in now.

Cheers

Okay so I figured out that the VSS and Crank Position Sensor are indeed the same thing…
Also found that the 1.8T rails setup is indeed the same as the 4.2L…

Does this sound right for testing VSS signal?

Verify that Pin 54 of the ecu goes to connector a180. From there it goes to the blue 32 pin plug on the cluster, and connects to pin 3 which is white and blue. Verify continuity between these two pins to ensure the ecu receives the proper VSS signal!

love watching that video…wish they would do some love for the belt driven v8

the direct plate NOS will work on your car. Its the best system there is. Not just for the Audi but even in most of the domestic market. It was developed with one of the founders of the original NOS corp. Its like a fogger system but with the bonus of the spray bar systems.

^^Interesting

Question for you guys. Is there ANY downfall in removing the whole SAI system? Anything at all? Affect motor or startup in anyway?

Just more room in any already cramped engine bay. All SAI does is bring the car up to emissions standards within 30 seconds of starting the car. No need for it

x2. As long as you don’t need to worry about emissions testing or can tune it out, no need especially if you are catless

Thanks guys…emissions is not an issue. I have the 034 motorsport block off plates on the way
