2007 Audi S6 - The journey

Hopefully this is okay. I’d like to use this “topic” as a place to document my struggles and small wins with my 2007 Audi S6.
I bought the car 5 years ago during covid as a project. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It’s my first German car. Go big or go home I guess. I’ve put about 5,000 stressful and sometimes fun miles on it. It was more of a disaster than I knew, but I’m getting close to having it sorted…I think. I’m busy at work and took my time.
This will be to remember. So far I’ve done the following:

Rebuilt front end suspension.
New tires
New driveshaft and carrier
New front CV axles
Trans fluid flush and refill
Cleaned and resealed injectors (replaced 2)
Walnut blast and chemical clean intake valves
New battery
New throttle body wiring and connectors
New 14 pin wiring connector
New PCV (2x)
Replaced all oil gaskets I could get to. Front main seal, oil filter housing, water pump, oil cooler and oil pan gasket.
Replaced countless wires and connectors
Replaced hoses on alternator
New HPFPs
New LPFP
New fuel pressure gages
New throttle bodies
New MAFs
In the process I’ve learned how to use VCDS, model in 3d fusion, 3d print parts and tools, and purchases a bazillion tools.
Non car folks ask me if the car is worth all this effort? The same people that asked why I used to jog and do triathlons. It’s not about the car really; it’s been about the journey.
We’ll see what the car has in store for me next. I hope you are all enjoying your journey.
