just wanted some input on this subject. Does the Oil cooler ever need to be replaced? I have my bumper off doing an alternator and i was just wondering if it would be something worth doing while everything is apart. Do those things ever give out?
The oil cooler should be good for the life of the car. But a healthy inspection is a very good idea. The O ring seals tend to fail and you can get oil leaks. The only other thing that has been shown to happen is that you can get an internal leak. From there you get oil and coolant mixing.
At the very least I would pull and inspect replace the O rings and check the fittings.
Other that the obvious oil in water or water in the oil. Is there any other way to diagnose this?
Like with a pressure test?
