2008 Audi s6 SAI delete (what does it benefit?)

Hey everybody. I keep seeing on these forums people posting their S6 mods and happen to notice the “SAI delete”.
Can someone please tell me what the point is to doing that? Does is run better or give better performance? I have my whole front end off the car so i need to know whether I should or shouldnt get plates and block them off.

just correcting a spelling error

weird… im typing the word “benefit” and it comes out “BEIT”

WHAT DOES THE SAI DELETE HELP?

Easy, easy my friend. I’ll update this post with info on it when I get back home (10 mins).

EDIT:
Totally didn’t come back… lol. SAI delete provides benefits removing some of the harshness that initially occurs when you cold start the car and it’ll also help prevent some carbon buildup that comes from the SAI system.

So the car runs better without it?

In theory, yes. Mine will still show symptoms but it’s definitely n or as harsh and goes away fairly quickly. Keep in mind, you’ll continue to have a CEL unless you install the JHM tune which I cannot speak more highly of. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yes its mostly for cold start and warm up situations. The SAI system just wreaks havoc on the car its more for emissions than anything. But the fall out of it is. The car cold starts terrible even when the temps are not super cold outside.

The SAI combi valves can start to cause issues if you don’t ever even trigger the SAI system. So overall the car runs and starts better without it. Its a smart thing to remove.

The JHM tune helps all of the 5.2 cars start better along with the impressive power increase better driving and other great add ons. But removing the SAI helps even more. If you remove the SAI system your going to need the JHM tune.

So its a win win…win win win.
