I love the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 but I think this one might top my love for it…

"The V-8 engine skips turbo- or supercharging in favor of a sky-high redline—there’s no official number yet, but we’ve heard 8000-plus rpm—and that fancy flat-plane crank, a trick favored by Ferrari. For those unfamiliar, a flat crankshaft design involves attaching the crank pins at 180-degree intervals rather than the usual 90; this allows for a firing order that bounces back and forth between the two cylinder banks, providing evenly spaced exhaust pulses.

It’s all about better breathing, and it results here, says Ford, in the most powerful naturally aspirated engine the company has ever produced. The carmaker hasn’t yet released final output ratings, but it does tell us to expect more than 500 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Hell. Yes. For comparison, the Boss 302 made 444 horses and 380 lb-ft from a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8, and the new Mustang GT gets 435 and 400 from its updated five-oh."

I’m not too crazy about the GT, but the GT350 looks amazing.

I was thinking about going with a GT500 over an RS4, but… I’m not a huge RWD fan, especially considering I moved further North. I hate domestic forums…the GT500 just isn’t very special…and with what JHM is doing I could have a nasty RS4 for the same price as a stock GT500.

I saw AND heard my first GT350 tonight!!! I was cruisin along 95 when I took notice of this new mustang with red racing stripes; at first I didn’t think much of it until I heard what sounded like a raw V8 over the road noise…you know, the low RPM growl.

I creep up next to it and boom, heard that V8 growl! I slowed down to make sure it wasn’t just the GT version and took another hard look at it, there it was the GT350 moniker. I was instantly hooked and paced it more to hear that engine.

I guess the driver knew what I saw he had so he throttled it and ohmagawd, the rawness of that V8 was just fucking orgasmic!!!
