2019 R8 V6 TT

True but as I mentioned earlier, Nissan uses a highly strung incredibly high tech Turbo V6 as a money losing advertorial, which enables them to sell for $115,000. They make limited production runs and lose an estimated 40,000 per car.

Audi is using a turbo 6 in the r8 as a business case to make money. So they won’t put anywhere near the excitement into the turbo 6 that Nissan does.

Nissan also uses a 3.8 litre V6 which is 95% of the displacement of an Audi RS7 4.0T v8 engine. So usable torque and curve area is in another atmosphere vs a tiny 3.0V6.

Porsche, the other makers of a highly successful turbo 6 used 3.6 or 3.8 litre variants in their turbo model the past 10 years. They’ve got a 3.0 turbo 6 for the base model 991 coming up and that will make nobody’s pulse quicken.

Saw this article today. They are claiming a 2.9 liter V6 TT that will be used in the R8, RS5, RS4, and RS Q5.

Yep, saw that too… Decisions decisions decisions… lol

wonder why they left the 0.5 litre per cylinder architecture behind

edit: just read it…it’s a porsche engine borrowed from the panamera
