I agree. I look at race gas vs pump sort of like nitrous vs s/c… while your car has a great increase of power with nitrous, it is only at certain times and isnt feasible to run all the time, a supercharger is ready to give the power when you need it and is always there. Same thing with race gas: you only use it when you need an increase in power for racing or posting a high time…you won’t get that same time out on the street when running your DD pump gas.
Thanks guys yes, after being annoyed constantly switching between race gas and pump I did switch to e85. There are probably 15 stations within 10 miles of me. I do have a 2nd ecu that should be back from jhm soon that will be used for either pump gas or race gas, not sure what Kurt wants to do with it yet. The egts are picky on these cars and I think pump would just run way too got, but I’ll leave that up to the tuner. The car still is pulling hard but we are hitting a wall up top and are tracking it down now. Disappointed I couldn’t make it back to the track again on a good setup but we will see how it goes over the next few weeks and if we get it running right I’m not opposed to driving a few hours south to hit the track.
Saki is right, the 01e is a hindrance. The shorter 3rd and 4th in my setup does not help either. On my first time at the track I was faced with either shifting into 5th or just hitting the rev limiter right before I crossed the finish line. I’m not opposed to puttin a b7 rs4 trans in the car when the time comes! I honestly hate the short 3rd and 4th already. But that probably won’t happen until I need a trans rebuild.
I’ve got a full box of drivetrain stuff going in in the next couple of weeks. Motor mounts trans mounts rear diff mount, snub mount and rear carrier bushings. Hoping it helps with all the slop in noticing. Also have sway bars going in. Flat bottom steering wheel too. Picked up some 18x9.5 rpf1s and working on getting either a drag radial or a wider set of re11s on them. My current track wheels are 18x8 on a 225 re11. Had a 1.60 flat 60 ft on them on a k04 b5 but they just roast on the rs6 through first and second.
The RS4 transmission is pretty solid. The B5 guys who get a chance to drive an RS4 always make mention of the difference. Having driven a few B5s, I would have to agree. Changing gears in the RS4 is like petting a sleeping puppy vs. the B5 which is like petting a porcupine.
ran across this old thread. Pretty funny that FT only went 11.2 @ 125 with -2800 feet of DA. Holy fuck…-2800 feet?
That means vs. 0 DA he is about 9% more power. AKA about 3-4 MPH of trap speed more than at DA 0. AKA he’d have run 11.5 @ 121-122 at 0 feet of DA. AKA the same as the turbo car at NewEnglandDragway that he was shit talking.
I think they’re basically equal, with the edge to the turbo car power wise. Looks like if the turbo car made 500 whp, FT is making around 450-470 whp.
So maybe fatso shouldn’t be shit talking and should run the turbo car…
Exactly. He didnt trap 131. Regardless, I still have yet to see a video of him with the marker on his car from that day. For all we know he only ran the one time.
I also think this is funny…did he forget that Dan@JHM owns and operates his own RS4 which went 10.7 @ 130?
“Worlds Fastest Privately Owned and Operated B7 RS4 Since November 29th, 2013”
If he argues it’s the private vs. a shop, he is compensated by APR for supercharger kit promotion, so he isn’t exactly ‘private’ either and should STFU
Because he claimed he was fully up front about his review. To which I said ok, but your review in November 2014 was a year after you ran your “best” time. So he basically hid all of those issues for at least a year.
He admitted as such but tried to weasel out of it by stating the choppiness was no big deal for him. However, the stalling issue is a bigger deal and he claims he mentioned it as well but I don’t know which thread he’s referring to so I can’t verify.
That’s all. Not a big deal really, it’s mostly just for my own curiosity lol
The only time FlyingTrollmatoes admitted he had stalling issues is when he was caught and pinned with the facts. He never once posted regarding that issue. He tried to hide it as always and when it came out tried to brush it under the carpet as if it didn’t/doestn’t bother him. So once again downplaying the real issue and being shady. If he really cared about community he would’ve disclosed that info and shared with the community, but c’mon that’s not real FlyingTrollmatoes. Same exact thing he did with APR1740 not passing emissions issue. Not once posted/warned/informed the community and when the issue came out tried to downplay it. Pathetic.
Good catch guys and great of you to point it out. It’s even more of a black eye for these random trolls that they don’t hold there choose of products or company’s to the same standards that they hold jhm to.
Ultimately, I still don’t know which thread this is. The one he claims everyone has access to. Of course, he didn’t actually provide a link to it. Just wondering if anyone knows of this Nov 2014 thread and has a link to it.
