3.0 Dp scam don't be fooled.

Like any good scaming company that is looking to take advantage of the 3.0 excitement let me make this post talking about a few FACTS about our 3.0 and its motor and its DP’s

I know there are many a knolagable member that will pop in and help correct me if IM wrong. A few things I wanted to post and point. out.

We own a great car and I don’t want circus side show companys trying to put out bad information to try and “sell” us on something we already have.

Ready for this bomb shell.

these are our Dps

HERE IS THE BOMB SHELL… ARE YOU SITTING DOWN

http://audirevolution.net/addons/albums/images/492833048.jpg

THERE ALREADY 2.2" A company called stratmosphere wants you to believe your DP’s are 1.9" and there not. At the mouth the INSIDE diamoeter is 1.9 but there so called 2.2" DP’s have THE SAME INSIDE MEASUREMENT… This is called scamming members and hopeing your not smart enough to know better.

what is the point on spending any moreny to do anything but to make a set of DP’s less the cats. I really have to applaud all the AR members that have spoke up in the past few days. LEts reamember that worst thing that can happen to a platform is a company will come out and try to pass off bad information in a attempt to sell us something.

FACT OF THE MATTER IS WE ALREADY OWN 2.2" Dp’s. REmeoving the Cats are where 90% of the power is going to come from. IF your savy and you have time its a free mod.

ALso Another big score for the members that mentioned our manifolds. Our manifolds are not a restriction. Each runner has its own path and The MAnifolds are actually larger and flow better then the B5 S4 manifolds that can support up to 500whp if not more.

JUst a little preview of what is the next thing that we can use. This is what domination looks like.

This is My JHM 2.5" Dp that swallows my 2.2" Stock Dp

With all the bial getting put out there I wanted to give some of the more knowladgable members to pop in and share there thoughts.

Since you have probably already done the testing on the 2.25" and 2.5" JHM downpipes, is it true that there is a loss of low end tq/hp with the 2.5" pipes? There’s nothing but speculation on that possibility in the AZ thread. I know you probably haven’t tested it on a dyno, but what’s your feel of it?

WOW! A picture really is worth a thousand words… This would be hilarious to drop into the AZ thread in a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree that the only question now is if we lose any power with the bigger pipe all the way through.

There isn’t a loss its pure specualtion from a company and collection of people who do nothing but guess. Do the 2.7T cars loose Tq with there 1.5L per side when they go DUAL 3.0"… no… The 2.5" is part of the equation. Getting the proper exhaust system is going to play a roll in that.

Your not going to loose anything your going to move the Tq curve but your not going to loose it.

Don’t worry about ‘losing torque’. If you’re messing with your exhaust, you’re also going to get JHM tuned. JHM will plan for you to AT LEAST decat your downpipes (you guys have pre and main cats?) and will take advantage of the flow.

If you’re wondering about ‘loss of backpressure’ or ‘losing torque’ just know that I’ve been there, done that (worried about those same things)…then got my car modified (B7 S4 with gutted OEM downpipes JHM tune and a 2.5" catback) and when I first drove it, I felt like ‘oh shit I lost torque’. Only thing is when I tested how fast my car was, I was fucking KILLING my friends who were pretty equal before and my logs and most importantly my dragstrip timeslips showed the truth - it isn’t a loss of torque, it’s an all around better power band without an artificial restriction in the stock tune making it feel like a ‘hit’ of torque happens at a certain RPM point. Thanks to a much better area under the curve from idle to redline, the ‘hit’ is buried. It’s gone. And so is your friend in a stock version of your car gone…in your rearview mirror.

So don’t believe the hype guys. Let’s see someone go JHM tune + 2.5" downpipes + 2.5" catback and then race someone with a JHM tune and strat 2.25" fullback (a.k.a. a replica of your stock setup). I think the results will be interesting. You know who won’t want to do that? Stratmosphere, or any of the other tricksters. First they’ll say it’s not necessary and blah blah blah. Then they’ll say they can’t find anyone to race. Then when one of you guys steps up they’ll say ‘this car wasn’t made for the dragstrip’.

p.s. ever notice that B5 S4 guys (2.7L V6) get FASTER when they take off their catback and downpipes? Anyone notice that justincredible got faster when he ran open headers at the dragstrip? What about the backpressure myth? How about when justin put a 2.25" Stratmosphere catback on his B6 S4 and ran half a second and 4 mph slower. There’s your backpressure.

I wasn’t smart enough to post it so im going to be smart enough to quote it.

I’ve been doing car data for a while and I have read countless BS about removing backpresure removes HP.
What a bunch of whoey. Several Motorhead publications proved back preasure is not needed.

They prove that the amount of air being forced into the engine balanced by a non restrictive amount of air
at the exhaust point is crucial in better performance.

They are still going on about those DP’s.

However the guy that got them posted pics of his manifold and I think there maybe another different type of manifold for the 3.0 just like the DP’s

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/458604-V6-Catless-Downpipes.-Video!?p=7070289&viewfull=1#post7070289

And here are some pics I put up to make my numbers (they are also uploaded on AR if anyone ones to look in my exhaust album
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/458604-V6-Catless-Downpipes.-Video!?p=7071979&viewfull=1#post7071979

yeah, that’s weird.

you sure he’s not just a retard? and thinks you mean the downpipe is 2.5 and he’s measuring the top of the DP? Can’t see his pics.

p.s. LJ…next time, try to load those pics to audirevolution.net so folks see the domain name watermark when you post on other sites

Very.

From the pics he posted he def measured the manifold

I usually did, but this time I didn’t resize the pics before I loaded them on AR, so I resized them and put them on AZ. Its just a little bit of a PITA to upload pics on AR. But I love AR so I put up with it

dude the res on my phone is jacked and I don’t know what mode it was in sorry for the jacked up picture. Ill have to grab a better one. I dropped it the day before I took thse pics.

here is my manifold. Sorry for the weired angles. It measures 2.5

http://audirevolution.net/addons/albums/images/270268655.jpg

Exactly like mine, what is your build date.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why the guy on AZ has a different manifold

awesome…so this just proves that shitface stratjohn doesn’t do his homework.

I was thinking it was a Euro/ROW thing that gave LOUT the big mouth, but Shawn is in Detroit so that’s that.

Strat based their design philosophy on one set of of exhaust manifolds, without checking to see if there were any updates/revisions. Sure blows his whole ‘2.25 is fine since the mouth is 1.9’ theory out of the water.

Shawn post that pic up in the thread.

Also, stop helping stratjohn…you’re doing his homework for him.

This is the work JHM is doing behind the scenes guys. This is the work stratjohn should have done BEFORE going to market with his 2.25 downpipes.

Here’s how I do it:

upload the pic
use a 6 letter or more 1 word name for the pic
repeat it the description
repeat it TWICE as the ‘tag’

for your pic lets just say

MANIFOLD
MANIFOLD
MANIFOLD MANIFOLD

Then uplooad and when you’re done uploading click on ‘my profile’
Click on ‘pictures’ instead of video
click on the last page of your pictures
click the picture you want
when it opens, small in like a preview half size, right click, and get the properties from there (on firefox it’s just copy image location I believe)

Then you’re done. If you click the preview (the medium one not the thumbnail) you will end up at the start of the album.

This sounds complicated, but it’s no worse than photobucket really.

^^^ thanks for the instructions.

True no one did the homework, but who knew there were 2 different manifolds.

Well since he said I didn’t know shit, it was time to prove him wrong.

On the basis of what strat normally do, I doubt this knowledge will be translated into their products. At the end of the day I will always buy JHM, I have already ordered every single thing JHM has for the 3.0 we are just co-ordinating with my engine arrival.

And my brother and I think that supersprint when they made the headers they got a car with the small manifold based on some of the sizing they used.
