3.0 Motor advancement

Hey guys. I just saw the talk about the 3.0 on Az…

I know first hand that the 3.0 motor has sleeves. I had one before I got the S5.

I have to say that scotty at advanced knows nothing about cars let along transmission. I had a buddy with a B5 that sent his transmion to him and he got it backed jacked up. Eveytime I see him post on AZ its wrong.

I can see first hand the 3.0 doing well. I got the same gruff back in the day when I said something about making more power with my 3.0.

Knowing what Ive seen so far out of the beta tune for my S5. I have to say this. I made the mistake of thinking that GIAC had a dewcent chip for the S5… I felt like I got ripped off. I just got the JHM beta tune for the S5 the other day and ITs amazing. Its crazy more powerfull. The acceleration times are much better. The GIAC chip was actually slower then stock.

Oh and for those of you who need it let me know. I have a hacked Version of Vag-com You just need to get a Ebay or JHM cable. Obviously I would suggest getting the cable from JHM. I would think the more money we give them the more we are all going to see.

Glad to hear it, keep the info coming as well. And I highly second the comment about sending any and all business JHM’s way, even if it’s just the small stuff. I know I have over the past 3 years.

Why would anyone listen to a guy who builds transmissions out of scrap parts.

For clarity the 3.0 has thin wall sleeves. I’m assuming whoever Scott is needs to stick to attempting to rebuild transmissions. I could only assume that The 3.0 motor is well above his pay grade and has no clue what he is talking about. If you know what your looking for there not hard to spot.

To completely end the debate on the 3.0 motor and its use of sleeve components.

This is a direct page from the Audi Training manual for the 3.0 motor. This information is directly from Audi given to use techs on the updates and information on new cars, parts, motors ETC.

It would be my guess that anyone thinking that these motors don’t have sleeves, either doesn’t realize that stainless steal isn’t magnetic or there just clueless.

Hope this ends any debate.

thanks, I cross-posted that on AZ, hopefully avoids any further disagreement. I’m actually surprised at the lack of ridicule this is receiving on those boards. For the most part everyone is just curious to see what JHM will do, goes to show they are a very well respected company :slight_smile:

Your going to get the typical AZ guys that are cheering for the last place team, that are going to get mad. That happens everywhere. Its a shame that those guys have to even post.

Then your going to just get the other guys that need to feel better that the 3.0 isn’t going to go anywhere. Those would be the turbo guys that have, boost leaks every week, diverter issues, and reliability issues there plagued with

Thanks for the information. Debate over. GOSH AZ sucks. I saw some of the waste of conversation that was going on over there. Good to know you guys have this site.
