I have successfully tethered my iPhone to a TP-Link router and TrendNet adapter via the USB AUX cable.
Issue –
Google Earth will not load. The “Goo” in Google will turn white, but “gle” remains greyed out. Google Earth is also greyed out in the Nav menu although I can select it.
I have let the car sit in an area that I know has coverage and the map would previously load using the SIM card for 20-30 minutes and it only loads the “Goo”. If I go into googleearth in the green menu and choose Start Service, I get a message that’s it’s already started, but when I back out to the Nav, Google Earth is no longer greyed out and the logo loads fully, but it sits at the “Please wait…” screen and never presents the map. I can hit the back button and it will display “Google earth is loading data do you want to view the standard map?” I can also choose Restart Service with the same results. I have tried clearing the cache, deactivating and reactivating the service, but to no avail. Once I restart the MMI after tinkering in the green menu, it only loads “Goo” and is greyed out in the Nav menu.
All of the following services are working as they should:
Audi Connect – able to pull weather and news
Traffic – TMC is active
Google Search – able to lookup online destinations and related details
Wi-Fi Hotspot – able to connect to the car hotspot and surf the web
iPhone MMI Connect App – able to play internet radio stations and load music library

I am so close here. Is there a way via VCDS to reinitiate Google Earth or am I missing something in my setup above? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am super frustrated since everything else is working so well. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
