4.0 TFSI Stock Dyno Figures (S6/S7)

What are people seeing?

Thus far it would appear Audi’s underrated the engine or was highly conservative with the numbers they’ve reported. Acceleration test seem to suggest this as well.

I’ve spotted Europeans claiming 490+ HP on a superflow (Dyno Estimates Crank Figures). I’m willing to bet most europeans are running 98 ron up from the suggested 95 RON.

Our own AWHP figures are not far off from what Audi advertises at the crank. (we’re using 93 vs the recommended 91).

Other tuners with “Tuning boxes” (not real ECU flashes) are posting stage 1 figures, but I haven’t spotted a single tuner listing or showing the power they made stock.

Has anyone seen any independent results yet?

Stock Figures (In HP, not PS and FT-LBS of torque, rounded):

Audi - 414 HP / 406 TQ Link
Person 1 - 485 HP / 457 TQ Link

Person 2 - 399 WHP / 374 WTQ Link

Interestingly enough Audi USA says the car makes 420 HP, but if you convert the german figures you will see that’s metric HP, or PS. Trickey! So it’s actually lower. ; )

Tuner Modified Claims (In HP, not PS and FT-LBS of torque, rounded):

MTM - 549 HP / 527 TQ - Link
ABT - 533 HP / 501 TQ - Link
SKN - 535 HP / 507 TQ - Link

Saw a Mustang dyno…hold on

found

Thanks. Added to the list.

This further backs my thoughts and is similar to what we saw.

your thoughts on what…that Audi is underrating what they publicly state about FI motor output?

B8 A4 2.0T
B8 S4 3.0T
C6 S6 4.0T

Same story. Good for us.

If someone is advertising modified crank dyno HP numbers for a product without showing a stock crank dyno they’re a retard. i.e. MTM/ABT etc for the B8 S4 and the piggybacks that worked intermittantly etc. If a car is shipped underrated, and you don’t provide a baseline but just an ‘after’ you are relying on a dumb consumer base.

Fortunately, the Audi market is RIFE with dumb consumers…and just as many cowards who are scared to call the tricksters out.

Oh I agree and I’ve had 0 problems calling this out. It’s nuts!

Here are a few lines to chew on.

hahahaha the troll faces are perfect.

Looks like huge gains though

Do you get the impression that the tune is stepping in and limiting top end a bit? (stock)

Over 625lbs tq at the wheels?
Over 495whp?

lol - stage 2 with cooling and exhaust on race gas?? What will that yield.

Incredible.

On the top end, no, I don’t believe so. I don’t think there’s much left on the top end. These turbos aren’t controlled like other vehicles either so we’ve ‘manually’ tested the upper limit to so speak. ;D

The midrange WAS a different story months ago, but now we’re doing the limiting. Those poor tuning boxes don’t stand a chance in the mid range. : )

Here’s a quick acceleration test I just did, vs stock with a full tank of gas.

I overlaid the videos in final cut pro.

The APR tuned S7 was 2.2 seconds quicker in the 60-130 mph test according to my PBox.

(Can we embed videos on here?)

Nice. That 2.2 seconds translated in the tune running 10 mph faster than stock up to 130, then slightly pushing more.

I was really hoping to go further but I let off both times before 160.

In stock mode the limiter is at 160 anyways, but I was hoping to get up to 180 or so, but my closed course suddenly opened. ; )

That’s a really cool video.
Would be good to overlay them again but starting at 60-130

What did the pbox say the time was?

Also have you tried a quarter mile pbox test? Or 0-60?

P. S. Who is drilling the rev limiter in the race car at the end of the video?

Arin, Cool video! thanks for sharing… Like Saki mentioned can you share any of the results 0-60, 60-130, 1/4 times… If not can you tell us yeah or nay as to if this is faster than some of the times tsivas and Pete are posting or the 1/4 times that Ryan, Bear and I have posted with the B8 S4?

Finally, now that APR has two DSG cars please please please dedicate some resources to a DSG tune… You guys could make a killing as it’s an untapped and growing market at this point… S4’s, S5’s, RS5’s, S6

I think stock would be a match 60-130 for the modded B8 guys. Assuming everyone was on pump and everyone was at the same density altitude.

Modified, the S7 is quite a bit quicker. Don’t forget this pull was done in alabama, on pump gas…while the fastest Tsivas times were done at DA -3000+ on race gas.

Yep I realize that… just trying to get a perspective… Also, it’s probably not to bad in AL this time of the year… Obviously, nothing like the conditions in Jersey now…

This is when he did it… 4pm wednesday

So about 4000 feet different

The video above was 9.9 vs 12.1 with a full tank of gas. I’ve seen as low as 9.2 during testing. I’ll have to get back out there with everything in the production state to see what I can get.

Yesterday I went from 3.6 vs 4.1 (again full tank). I haven’t tried quarter mile. I never really do that on the pbox.
