I have tried telling people that they need to change their SC oil and they look at me like I am nuts. Also Audi has quietly changed the SC belt replacement interval from 75K to 55K. Willing to bet that a lot of 3.0Ts will be suffering from stupid issues in a year or two. God help you if the PCV valve fails like it did on a client of mine’s car because it is a major PITA to replace.
I just replaced the ventilator cap hoping to help with premature PCV failure. Also I changed my SC belt at 48K, so I will change it again in another 20k. As a sidenote which I am really interested in, Blackstone said they can analyze my oil so I am sending that off today, I was only able to properly collect about half a bottle worth of the 3 oz’s they needed.
Side by side of the PCV vent cap, I am not certain what this cap does but its cheap to replace and has had a revision since 2010. I believe RS5 guys were replacing their as well since they have a similar setup, not sure what benefit it has if any.
