A4. 3.0 year to year changes.

Louisiana

I spoke with Keaton yesterday and Iā€™m waiting on a quote from his recommended courier. Hopefully itā€™s not crazy expensive.

I have a truck I can use full time and Iā€™ve got a really busy travel schedule for work in the next couple months so I wonā€™t be using the A4 much anyway.

high five thru the interwebs!! ;D

wowā€¦ reply post FAIL :ā€™(

Man that would be great. Are you a auto or manual car.

Ok so Ive been digging and this one is one of many but its very important.

The 2002-2003. SO far this stacks up to be a very solid car. The transmission and the motor. One more thing to add to the list. The Fuel system is a return style fuel system. This is a major plus for adding power when looking to FI apps.

The non 2004+ isnā€™t loosing out as there are many plus sides to this. When adding power the fuel system can simply use all the S4 components, so its a easy upgrade for the fuel system on the 04+ cars.

^Very interesting they went to returnless mid model. I wish the S4 was lucky enough to have the return style fuel system.

I just updated this. post with the new TIP box information.

a suggestion would be to make this part of the FAQ

great thread, Props!

Bringing this to the top. maybe we can update and shed some light on the manifold size difference addressed in the AZ thread

Well here are a couple of reasons I think that there are two (that we know of) different exhaust manifolds

  • sport and non sport
  • the small one is from the 2.8 B5
  • Audi just ran out of stock on that guys car
  • It was too expensive to make the large one so few years into the B6 they changed the design

Maybe someone prove some of those point wrong

-Sport is just the suspension, sway bar, and wheels I think
-2.8 maybe, I donā€™t know much about that though.
-Hahahahaā€¦ possibly?
-This option seems most likely out of those listed. Which would suck! Although it might explain why the stock 1/4 mile times seem to be higher than what any of us are hitting lol. (15.2 on the manual 15.7 auto?)

I was looking at ebay for exhaust manifolds and look what I found 2.8 exhaust manifolds

They look familiar

Ohhh snapā€¦ The theory atm then is that those crappo ones are used on the newer models right? Laaame.

Anyone have friends at shokan that would be willing to compare sizes of downpipes and exhaust manifolds? They have quite a vast graveyard of parts. We also need to find part number histories.

Well I think Audi carried on with the log manifold with runners from the B5 S4 on the 3.0 and when they realized that it was too expensive to do this for an A4 they stopped, thatā€™s why we see the log manifold with runners return on the B6 S4

Komseh - I will get the part numbers for my set up

HAhaha there are a shitload of part numbers for our downpipes!!!

And the plot thickensā€¦

Guess some of us might be scouring part yards for b5 s4 manifolds?

Well, the exhaust manifolds only have one part number (for the USA)
Iā€™ll see if I can pull Euro part numbers

Ahh, well that much is good to knowā€¦ The downpipe thing is weirding me out, I understand the differences between transmissions and bgn and avk engines, but why multiples between the same engine/transmission combosā€¦

Well the picture of the exhaust manifold in the ETKA printout looks exactly like the 2.8, but why does Shawn have the good one.

The part number for my manifold is 06C 253 031 H
