ABS and ESP lights on

My fun time driving with the new exhaust has calmed down for a minute.

Currently driving home from work and both ABS & ESP lights came on. I don’t have my laptop with me so I haven’t checked any codes yet.

Still being inexperienced with vagcom and what would cause both lights to turn on, is there anything specific I can test through vagcom to see what’s going on?

I’ll be home in 30 or so minutes then I’ll scan the system

You can always to an output test but the codes you get should be fairly telling as to what’s wrong

well left my cable in my shop and not in my apartment so looks like I will have to wait to scan it

Aw man, well I hope it’s nothing like a dirty wheel speed sensor or something

Nothing life threatening. The MAF would be the first guess as that’s important to both of those. But the others would be speed sensors or steering sensors. Shouldn’t be a hard fix.

Interestingly enough the lights didn’t come on during my hour drive to work. Probably going to be working at the shop tomorrow so I’ll grab my cable and see what’s going on

That’s a good thing probably just a small intermittent issue

Lights came on again last night and I had my laptop with me so I did an auto scan

It shows a code for the brake light switch under ABS but I just replaced that over the winter. I’ll prolly just double check that its got a good connection

Also, I then went into ABS through vagcom, clicked on fault codes and saw a code for the brake pressure sensor. It’s weird that it didn’t show up in the scan. I am going to double check it again this evening when my family’s summer birthdays party is over.

edit: I just checked, all the brake lights are working and it only seems to happen when its wet out

I would clear all codes and see what ones of those come back
