Accuair e-Level.... does it live up to the hype?

So, I saw this review on the Accuair e-Level, and it got me interested in the kit.

I don’t have the need to dump the car to the ground, but I really like the idea of being able to raise it up for road obstacles and extended trips where I am carrying a heavy load of passengers and gear loaded on the roof of the car.

It looks great in the video, but what is it like in real life?

Does it work as intended?
Is it overly complicated?
Is it reliable, or are things breaking all the time?
Day to day, at sport ride height, does it perform as well as coilovers?
Is the air ride bouncy?

I had faith in Matt Farah’s review until I saw this video. At 0:55, I lost all respect for him as a Reviewer…

So, anyone hear anything good or bad about the eLevel? Anyone with first hand experience would be great.

Somewhere in my build thread (B8 Avant) there’s some discussion about my airride setup if you want more information. As for “Accuair”, they have a great marketing department. My local airride installer is fixing an Accuair install (leveler arms) a few times/week. My Airlift/Ridetech system has been flawless for the past year.

Yes, it’s easily as good (or better) than a quality coilover setup (my previous was KW V2) but you absolutely need damping control IMO, which the Accuair system doesn’t offer. They say their bag is designed to work with the factory damping but I’m not sure how that could be possible since people will want to drive at different heights (“spring rates”) and at different associated damping feel. The bag/factory damping will work in a certain range, but isn’t adjustable outside that range. My Airride setup has 30 steps of adjustment. Combo compression/rebound with more emphasis on rebound…similar to Bilsteins.

It’s no more/less bouncy than a steel spring, the damping controls that.

Thanks Cory. That is exactly the kind of feedback I wanted to hear.

Ill be sure to check out your build thread.

No problem, I added a bit more above if you’re interested.

OK, cool. I have H&R coilovers, but they dont have any damping controls. So, I would have to make sure to get a set of shocks that had those. Good to know.

My buddy has an air setup with the e leveling (i forget which brand). Its awesome. I think down the road i may switch. The fact that people sit in his car and it levels out to original height is awesome.

That is definitely a cool feature. I wonder if the price on this stuff is every going to come down significantly.
