I had not read this anywhere, not to say that it hasn’t been mentioned.
After intake, plugs and coils install with great care, the car idled and ran like crap. No way this is possible. All new parts and I’ve never made a mistake in my life. lol
That said; somehow I recalled or stumbled upon the answer.
Since the throttle body was removed & cleaned and new IM (flaps installed) I had to run the vagcom throttle body adaption and intake runner adaption.
Miraculous! Wow.
I could only do relatively short around the hood run due to radiator leak but idle is rock steady, acceleration smooth and just generally awesome.
May not be a bad idea to just run these calibrations occasionally just to establish zero.
I ran intake runner adaption with motor running, but not sure that was necessary. I don’t know if the outer flaps open gradually or all at once but it feels like all at once based on butt dyno.
