Visiting Taipei in a few weeks. It’s a work trip, so I’ll probably only have a day or two extra.
Interested in advice/thoughts from those who have been there!

A good friend of mine just came back from there on business within the last month, but also met up with some friends from my location out there. I asked him for some advice and he replied back with a number of questions.
Age?
Single or Married?
Looking to party or chill and check things out?
Thanks! Married - just looking to chill, nothing crazy.
Ok, so my buddy highly recommends to get the Trip Adviser App. He indicated there is wifi almost everywhere.
If you’re into hiking - Elephant Hill, there are some really good spots to view the entire city
Night Markets - Various street food items and low cost shops. Overall an experience to see stuff
Longshin Temple - the oldest in the city
For an upper scale type of atmosphere - Brown Sugar Live Music & Restaurant (a few blocks from Tapei 101 building)
If you like ice cream he definitely recommends the Mango Shaved Ice Cream. In his words, “It’s damn good”. It’s in one of the market areas which may be found via Trip Adviser.
He also said he got around mostly via the subway system which was really easy to use.
I hope that’s a start.
Yes - great start. Thanks!

Trip is booked for later this month. I arrive Saturday evening, and have Sunday free. My employee in Taiwan wants to show me around Taipei on Sunday. Business meetings M/T/W/R, and then fly back Friday. I can extend a day to goof off Friday if I want…
