Alignment off, chirping, ate a tire, now what?

Also, when I was under there, I noticed that my driver’s side inner cv boot has torn. Is it easier to replace the driveshaft complete, or replace the boot? The driveshaft is only around $100.

Thoughts?

Just get the entire upper control arm. You will be wishing you spent the extra $40 when you’re getting pissed at the bushings haha. Not to mention it is 10x faster to just replace the whole arm. Also, the cv boot is easy to replace IMO, no need to replace the entire driveshaft unless you see some additional damage.

If you can and have access to pressing out the bushings that’s cheaper but it makes more sense to just replace the entire units. When doing so getting the units with the best bushings are worth the extra money
money.

I changed the upper control arms, and the alignment issue has been fixed. They were definitely shot, all 4 bushings. There is still a creaking when I turn either direction when I first start out. Is that just the nature of the beast, or could there be something else going on here?

Did you change the upper strut mounts? BTW mine does this when its cold sometimes.

Did you torque the control arms loaded on the ground?

You don’t want to bind them by torquing the arms while the car is in the air and the wheels are hanging down like old wrinkly balls.

I didn’t change the upper strut mounts. They seemed to be fairly solid when I looked them over, but maybe I should’ve greased or replaced them. I did torque them with the suspension loaded, so that should be ok. No saggy, wrinkly balls here. Ha ha. I should probably get it in for an alignment now - you think?
