any update on this project? AMD kinda spilled some good info but it has vanished again 3 weeks later.

they said by june july they’d be retail ready which is a bit shocking. Just wondering if anyone has an update.

Think the comments from jfunkey are a bit harsh, mihnea clearly can tune and he seems to forget apr’s kit was ran on a stripped car (to an extent) the tts kit is solid. I’m attending an event on the 23rd-25th of this month with my car and my mate is going with his apr kit I’m hoping we can run against each other all though he’s not really into 1/4 mile.

I responded over there, I think funkey means paying to fly someone over from the UK would be stupid. Esp if you could convince someone like CV to do it. Yes, the APR car had some of the interior removed but you can’t make a fair comparison of the two s/c setups because of their hardware differences–thats just dumb.

and for the argument regarding mihnea’s tuning capabilities, I don’t know him. But keep in mind EPL tunes high horsepower cars…but they’re slow on the strip. So just because you tune “high hp cars” doesn’t really mean shit.

If this Mihnea fellow is the same guy who tuned the RS4 car with the TTS system then I think he’s doing a decent job since they hold the B7 RS4 S/C 1/4 record by a decent margin. Let’s not forget, CV also “helped” that stripped APR S/C RS4 attain that 1/4 time.

A for Apr who cares what the kit ran with the seats out…count Vohn tuned an Apr SC rs4 for a friend and with jhm exhaust it tsn 11.8 @.118+ so that pretty much validates the kit

Don’t forget the car Keith drove with the back seats out (85lbs) had a fully catted stock exhaust…give it Catless and it may have done even better even with the seats

Anyway no chance in hell count Vohn will tune the tts kits…its a direct competitor to the jhm kit.

Officially the fastest RS4 in the world with a 11.078 quarter mile time. APR Supercharged system out of South Africa on 100 octane. Beat the MTM time as well.

Mustys car ran 11.4 at Santa pod saki I just need to find it lol but I remember asking about it. My own car ran 11.6 running mild boost only problem was it wasn’t at the pod so rules it out. Nozrab I seen your reply, the way jfunkey worded it was a direct attack on mihnea’s tuning it was nothing to do stu flying him over. An apr car ran 11.078 on race gas? Yet the yellow rs4 in SA ran 12.5 something due to the altitude so there must be more than race gas done

any more info? Frankly blower alone, that’s impossible. Unless someone took 1000 lbs out of an RS4…added another power adder…or upgraded the TVSr1320 to something else…or ran at a non-IHRA/NHRA track, that’s impossible. The power needed for an ET that low would be in the 500-550 whp range…and the TVSr1320 maxes out at around 425-450.

My money is on weight reduction, 109 octane and a 100shot of nitrous. lol.

No timeslip or anything has been produced…just a twitter post with a picture of the car and ‘fastest RS4 in the world 11.078 in the 1/4 mile’. Looks like the car ran at ODI raceway although it’s hard to tell. Maybe Phakisa, but Phakisa is not a certified 1/4 mile dragstrip…they may have run on the straightaway of the racetrack.

It’s the same car that ran 12.5-12.6 last year. ODI raceway is at 5300 feet elevation, so an RS4 would need to be making about 600 wheel horsepower to run 11.0 at that elevation.

It’s the back straight on a racetrack in South Africa, and they set up some stopwatch equipment.

The guy who ran the time (sjsjelsa) didn’t even bother to put anything about this on his youtube account, because he knows it’s a crock. The company mick follows on twitter and facebook, sportech, an APR dealer, got a little overzealous with the proclamation.

wait a bit harsh…he was a dick and it had nothing to do with flying the guy over here he straight up said the guy could not tune, at least that is how i read it.

of course if his concerns about mihnea are valid and predate some of us, we have to hear him out. As I said, there isn’t exactly a long list of MRC tuned cars that have killed it. That TTS blower is a great piece, and they claim it’s stronger than the JHM blower.

Well, when the JHM blower is on an RS4 and we see what it does, we’ll be able to objectively see how the tune vs. tune stacks up. if JHM goes out and runs 10.8 @ 128…it’ll be hard for TTS to say it’s becuase JHM used a stronger blower since they already said the opposite. At that point the tune wil get scrutinized.

I think if someone posts about mihnea in the B5 S4 forum and asks for feedback it will be VERY different to the RS4 section feedback where few of us know anything about him.

well if jhm’s supercharger does well no one would be interested in mrc’s at that point because there is a huge price difference.

there will be a huge price difference but to be honest i don’t think that will really matter. People will buy JHM for their track record and the performance they produce. If they were all $16,000 for 525 whp+ I think JHM would have a HUGE legup. AMD has a rep in B5, but the RS4 world is a bit disconnected from the B5 world. AMD will have a shoe in with a bunch of the quattroworld guys who will buy because it’s not JHM, but that’s a sliver of the RS4 world, and that crew has proven to also be a bit disconnected…from performance.
