Another APR TVSr1740 kit blowing an engine. Fried piston rings.

You’d be surprised…APR does very well down there. Gerrick Mouton (I think that’s right) was one of the first 1320 kit owners in teh world, and was the first 1740 kit who wasn’t an APR dealer. He has an Imola RS4 and has a youtube channel with 6 years of good supercharged Rs4 videos.

Wait, I thought it was a disaster due to the blower, not the tune…so which is it??
My agenda is the platform…except I actually do something about it. You.Don’t. So go ahead and continue to pander toward the weak-minded. Anyone who knows anything, doesn’t listen to you anyways.
haha, you really do troll AZ, don’t you… I’ll high-five anyone who doesn’t put up with the bullsh*t drama. Besides, I’d rather be wrenching then reading, but you wouldn’t know anything about that
Then please show me a grenaded short block I can buy for less than the $4k core charge…

And no, no plan, no fishing…I just want one. If nobody knows I want one, and one pops up, I might never know about it…just planting mental seeds.

Koolade you just supported Corbett??, one of the biggest fucking trolls around. His only objective is to bad mouth JHM because he has personal beef with their tuner.

But you are here telling us how inappropriate it is to bring up some of the past troubles we’ve seen with the kit. Make up your mind man.

I’m not telling anyone to ignore past troubles…I’m erk’d at the propensity of folks to immediately blame the kit, when there’s obviously more at play here.

As for Corbett, I don’t know him, and don’t pay attention whatever drama is out there. Saki is attempting to bunch me in with him, just like he does with all the other people he doesn’t like.

Also, everything I said in the AZ thread is relevant and i’m glad str8blst checked in because he isn’t even sure if the update solved his issues yet. If everyone listened to FT they would believe his issue was fixed months ago…and that is the problem with FT. He is a paid spokesman and could never be honest about the kit…truly honest. He not only has gained financially by way of APR, but he also can’t possibly look like an idiot after all of the competitor bashing he has done if he really had issues with his kit.

and the wrenching on your car comment is kind of a pathetic jab, I love working on my own cars and really enjoy it, but some people don’t have the patience, space, or just simply don’t care to do the stuff themselves…it really means nothing about their mechanical skill.

you are blindly supporting his trolling…ignorance of his past isn’t a good excuse, maybe you should have just not commented at all.

Those were hardly vague claims…they are things that fucking happened…they aren’t lies or claims, they are facts.
That jab was meant for Saki…I’ve brought the same point up with him for years.

…but to expound, who would you rather listen to, the guy who read about it, or the guy who did it.

hahaha, this is exactly the kind of bullsh*t drama I’m talking about…because I posted this:
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/651344-APR-TVS1740-B7-RS4-Supercharger-kit-reliability-discussion?p=10755441&viewfull=1#post10755441

I want no part of it.

I’ve never seen him tell someone how to fix their car…but I’m with you on that comment.

I prefer to do like you, not talk. That isn’t very common though.

This is true. Anyone can speculate about the motors but there does seem to be a link. And let’s also not forget that apr couldn’t get this tune to pass readiness and that some customers had to go to Jhm to get that fixed if they wanted to pass readiness.

well you’re being vague and ambiguous. Nobody said the 1320 itself was a disaster. Just that it was undersized for the RS4. But they (APR) felt they had no choice since the 1650 and 1740 didn’t exist…and the 1900 wouldn’t fit without compromising the cooling . When AmVivGMG put the 1900 on that was nice, but we now know that their cooling is for shit and the car’s had to be held back considerably vs. the test car’s claims of 500 whp (owners have realised only about 450 whp)

Are you playing dumb for a reason? The only thing APR got beat up about was the horrid under-performance from the initial tuning, and then their lying and Stephen’s coverup about hiring JHM to help. Stephen has since been run out of the company for financial mismanagement ironically.

Again with this? I don’t do enough manual labour so I can’t talk about your ignorance? You already looked like a moron once by trying this to discredit me after I destroyed you in an argument and exposed you and your buddy ngng. Said I can’t comment because I don’t do any work on my car. Despite the fact that I in fact do regular maintenance on both of my cars (simple stuff, and nothing that requires me to go underneath it) I think I’d rather spend my time doing my own job and be happy paying a qualified person $100 an hr to do tedious, and in effect dangerous work (I don’t have a lift) on my car. I get that you make 1/4 of what a qualified shop charges since you work on the Geek Squad at bestbuy so paying a professional is something you can’t grasp, but try to see it from my point of view.

For all the wrenching you do, I’m still waiting for you to do something interesting with your RS4. Other than painting the wheels pink or running that awful ricer hood and pretending you’re a racecar driver. TheB5 A4 driving sycophants who tell you that your car is ‘sick’ appear to have gotten to your head.

lol str8blast doesn’t even have his car…how long has it been gone? and that other guy with the emissions issue…he was without it for like 6 months until someone wrote him a tune that works.

I just saw a guy post this…
and the car has a tendency to die if you do not downshift through the gears when coming to a complete stop (only happens about 10-15% of the time and only if you coast, with the clutch in, to a stop).
The fact it still happens throws up a big red flag IMO even if the new tune fixes it, who releases a kit that has this kind of issue?

People who can’t tune very well

Someone suggested this is because of the bigger supercharger drawing on the engine. At low speed the blower is a real drag.
