Another newbie to the forum

G’day folks, I’ve been on Audizine ever since I’ve had my car, but only learnt about this forum the other night thanks to the good Count Vohn.

Had the car since new and progressively made changes starting with the Bilstein, then the RS4 reps, then the catback. For it’s 100,000km anniversary I got the JHM tune. It’s awesome. Like Maddog3xx8 I had the pleasure to speak in detail about the tune with Count Vohn. Thanks for your time and detailed explanations mate!

So “G’day” and a few pics!

Welcome! Add your pics to the B6/B7 S4 thread

wow

  1. awesome car

  2. how the fuck are you parked at Fiorano in your B7 with Cali plates…are you at Aviano or something?

  3. if you spoke with count from Italy, I bet it was a strong bill lol

Welcome, nice looking dtm there. I thought we may have had another aussie on the forum judging from the name and the “g’day” but the plates are all wrong…

Military? Beaut of a car…

That’s what i was thinking.

Welcome!! Nice looking car.

Awesome pics, awesome car!

Welcome to AR

questions, we have so many now!!!

Great looking car, dtm’s are always unique looking and those RS4 reps look great with it. And I second all of Saki’s questions, as well as Axel’s comment about posting up some pics in the B6/7 S4 photo thread.

Wow it must be awesome to drive your S4 in Italy. How many people can say that

Thanks for the welcome!

To try and answer all the questions in one go.

As Lout guessed, I am originally from Aus (love the HSV Senator BTW), but have been living in EU/Cali since the last 11 years. Originally I had a MkIV Golf R32 when I was living in Switzerland the first time. Moved to San Francisco and picked up the S4, then moved to Orange County a few years later, then the wife and I moved back to Switzerland at the start of 2010. So we took the car with us! Cars are so much cheaper here than there and wouldn’t have been a big drama to register it. Was awesome fun to drive all over Europe with California plates! Around the Casino square in Monaco more people were taking pics of us than the supercars parked there! In Switzerland you have 12 months to test and make the car “compliant”. So we took full advantage and drove as much as we could with the Cali plates. Went to the Nurburgring, and almost made it to the Audi factory at Ingolstadt, but mainly southern France and Italy. Last August the company moved us back to SoCal so instead of trying to rush it through registration in Switzerland and sell it, we chucked it back in the container and we are back again! Now the car is definitely part of the family!

Will upload some more pics and videos from Col de Turini, Monaco and Nurburgring.

Nice, I’m originally from the French Riviera and lived there quite a bit and also lived in Geneva. Did the Geneva-Monaco-Geneva route over 20 times (one time, I decided to count the number of tunnels I drove through. Total was 156! haha). Anyway, all those times, I was driving crap cars. I so wish I had my S4…very jealous! (Oh, and I tried moving to San Fran twice but both times it didn’t work out). Your home and traveling choices are right up my alley!

Welcome!! Love the DTM!! that rear valance is awesome!!

Holy crap! That’s a lot of moving! You must love your company to be willing to uproot so many times. Very jealous of the fact that you had all those great international driving experiences. Awesome stuff.

I like the DTM kit, it just makes it a little bit different.

It is a lot of moving, but the company is pretty good and when opportunities to live in different places around the world come up, it’s hard to say no. Although most of my moves happened before I got married. Now that we are back in SoCal, where my wife is from, I suspect we will be staying here for a lot longer.

Being in Switzerland has it’s advantages being so centrally located. Not far from the autobahns and not from from the Med and Tuscany. Being able to drive up to the Nurburgring and back in a day (1100kms) is also fun, particularly at autobahn speeds! Plus all the fun mountain roads in switzerland and south of france. Very lucky to have the experiences.

Hey buddy it’s Gordon…great to have you here. Looking forward to hanging out and checking out the beast in person some day soon.

The paradox that is my life - lived in the UK/Europe with great roads but couldn’t afford a fast car (I won’t deny my 2.0 TDI A3 was fun though) and I now live in Ontario/Canada where the S4 is affordable but all the roads are gunbarrel straight and BORING. At least there are on ramps and off ramps nearby. However, I won’t knock the experience of driving a Fiat Punto in the Italian Alps on my way to go skiing!

Awesome pics, I love the CA plates around Europe, more please!

Beautiful, ahh, I love the DTM body kit on the B7’s. Too bad all of them started to show up for sale after I already bought my car.

Awesome stuff, I wish I could have experienced all that.

Yay another Aussie on the forum, well that’s 3 now. (i don’t care that you live in so-cal, I’m claiming it) Where about from Aus were you from.

Busy with month end but will upload more pics as soon as I can.

@Lout, originally from Sydney. Still eating weet-bix, mint slice and tim tams. Miss the sausage rolls and meat pies something fierce.

hahaha nice, and your from the best city ;D

I am surprised that they don’t have meat pies in the states
