That’s the best thing about driving in Europe though, it’s just sort of expected that everyone drives super fast on the freeway. It’s no problem, you just stick to the right lane and watch them go, or try to keep up and let them clear the way.
At one point on the way from Milano to Monaco, some bloke was test driving the (back then) new GTR. F**king flew past! We would’ve been cruising at 180kph - they have speed limits now in Italy thanks to the EU - but we could’ve been walking he was going that fast!
On the way back from Cinque Terra on another trip, an RS6 from Munich passed me, tried to keep up, no chance, even in traffic. The wife was also not used to the european way of driving (she’s from LA).
We also saw a couple of times the Italian Police Lamborghini Gallardo! It was “posing” in a roundabout near the freeway in Como, then we saw it about 10mins later while we were in traffic going up the emergency lane.
Monaco is the best place for car watching though. The money, the posing, the cars! Saw Mr Pagani a few years back in his own Zonda tooling around, totally carbon fibre, no paint. Beautiful!
