Current OE wheels are rashed and peeling. 19x9 265/35/r19

I have been looking around and I really like Hartmann for their replica Audi wheels. Price not so much but oh well :wink:

I have been looking at the 256s and I love the look. Reminds me of the RS5 rims.

Question time. The stock rims are a 19x9 et52 if I remember correctly. The Hartmann wheels recommended for C6S6 are 19x8.5 et38.

Even with the half inch less in width, wouldn’t a 38 offset stick out past the fender more at lease a few noticeable millimeters?

Question two. Hartmann also sells the 256s in a 19x8.5 et47. Wouldn’t the 8.5 et47 be a closer match to the OE 9 et52, as far as wheel lineup to the fender, than a 8.5 et38?

This whole wheels, tires, spacers, offset, clearance, etc… Just not my bag of tea, so I need some advice with this.

It would probably be best to find some used RS5 wheels instead since I know they fit and would look better. Also they’re 20x9 I believe so you won’t have to go narrower.

Hartmann sells a 20x9 too. But a 40 offset.

The rs5 wheels work on the c6 as is? What’s the offset of the rs5 wheel, if you happen to know?

RS5 is et26 for the B8; the B7 RS4 is et29

I ran 20x10et35 rotiforms on stock suspension with no rubbing or issues.

the et40 will be fine.

For reference… the 8.5 et47 will poke 1.4mm less than stock (11mm more clearance from the strut)
the 8.5 et38 will poke 7.6mm more than stock (20mm more clearance from the strut)

WOW those rims look fantastic on the car. If you get it all worked out let us know. I have to say thats probably one of the best looking rims. I love the RS5 rims they look great on almost anything.

Thanks for the info murphenur. Like I said, wheels ain’t my strong suit so I appreciate it. I checked out those websites and I see stock 20x9 listed as a et48, so only 8mm difference. I don’t see it causing any issue like you said.

So I will most likely end up with the Hartmann 256s - 20x9 et40s.
That does leave me with one more question however regarding 20" wheels.

If stock 19 tires are 265/35r19, should I go 265/30r20 to come closer to matching wheel speed? Or is there a vag edit to adjust wheel speed relative to wheel size? I think I would prefer to stick with 265/35 with Michigan roads if possible.

There are a few options… Can’t remember if you can input your own figures.

The will they fit site gives you overall diameter.

I had 255/35r20 and they were a bit too big of a tire for my liking. I know there is a Red S6 somewhere in the pics section with 275/30r20 that looks spot on.

Yeah, after I made my last post I started thinking a 35 on a 20" with out being lowered might start to make my car look a lil to big. I’ll probably stick with a 255 or 265/30r20.

Alright. It is done.

I ended up doing the Hartmann HTT-256-MA:M - 20x9 ET40
Tires are Achilles ATR Sport 2 255/30ZR20

Not sure about the OEM wheels but I believe that these wheels, 20x9 et 40s, are 32.8lbs if I remember correctly.

Looks awesome. I love these wheels in all silver or polished too.

Also a big fan of the Achilles. Really a good bargain for what you get
