Someone had asked Purple what happened his intro thread:
[QUOTE=PurpleHeartRS4;9366340]Got hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan and the rest is history.

[QUOTE=PurpleHeartRS4;9405593]Still have all my fingers and toes I have a severe TBI (traumatic brain injury) which pretty much just resulted in some cognitive impairments, nothing crazy. I’ve got some PTSD but that is also related to other things. I’d say the most annoying thing is my jaw/teeth/sinus. I jacked that up pretty good and my jaw always hurts. I lost some teeth and broke others and when they were being removed they messed up the sinus on the left side of my face so it feels like someone is just constantly pressing on my face. Other than that, I broke my foot which healed well and the rest of my body is just constantly sore. I tore a lot of little things here and there which has lead to some back/hip/shoulder pain. Nothing unlivable.
What I said is still my belief though. People that have been in the the shit are humble and don’t advertise the things they overcame. Unfortunately, receiving a Purple Heart is different across each branch of the military so the criteria is by no means standardized.
All I will say is, I thank him for his service and hope that he overcomes his injuries.
Exactly! I don’t care how much someone loves or hates the company I work for or even how much they like me for that matter. If they served and risked their life for my freedom they are an ace in my book.
You’ve decided to take only that this thread was designed to slam someone?? Exposing what FT has done and continues to do isn’t going to highlight everything but it’s well beyond just slamming.
I totally agree everyone I know doesn’t brag about it or use it to get attention.
I think the guy sounds like a faggot due to the fact he brought it up.
Guys that brag are usually the ones who feel they don’t deserve it and want civilians approval.
I actually think it really means something when an actual respected guy like the b8 guys post in thd thread…the fact is they dont owm a rs4 so they are much less bias…
In the future, I would hope that APR, or any tuner company, would be more careful about selecting the first person to offer up their vehicle for an installation of a new product. Perhaps a contract with a future test vehicle’s owner to prevent this from occurring again. It doesn’t look good for APR to have someone to post diatribe and cause angst among the forum users.
Exactly. If you’ve picked your poster boy for your platform, best sure you have some sort of legal muzzle or you may loose more than ever imagined. Lance Armstrong is a primary example…
I’ve been thinking all morning on how to really put my thoughts. I’d like to say this isn’t against APR but possibly against the actions and words of an APR customer.
You’ll see FT really makes himself look close-minded
FT- Made it an issue to bring up the trimming in the JHM kit. Maybe had he installed his APR kit he would have known his fuel lines and coolant lines were cut. At the expense of sounding cynical, if you trim too much plastic installing your JHM kit your car will still start. If you’d have cut your fuel lines wrong installing your APR kit your car could not start or worse catch fire.
FT- Also went after the fact that 930 didn’t have product released information. When in fact FT was an “eairly adopter” of the APR kit (was it adaptor or adopter?). This would mean FT also didn’t know or have the same or greater amounts of this same information.
If FT is so set on making an issue of these things, is this to suggest that he feels slighted by ARP for cutting up his car and not having information out when he got a discount on his kit. Is it odd that his car getting cut up and him being an “early adopter” is ok but if someone else has a similar situation it requires him to post 50 times about it calling it wrong. So for FT its ok for anyone else its not?
Just my observation. I’d be interested in a APR kit or JHM kit for my car. These FT posts haven’t swayed me away from the JHM kit. If anything after seeing all you don’t have to cut it makes JHM more appealing. I’ve been waiting to hear more from APR for the S5 and the new stage 3. I’m open for a “early adaptor” option.
I asked Arin what he thought about flapping tomatoes acting like a troll asshole while promoting the Apr kit and deriding the JHM kit, knowing JHM and Apr do a lot of business together. He didn’t seem to mind. So I don’t think flapping tomatoes is as much of a loose cannon as we thought…more like a well placed bomb Apr are enjoying watching go off. A suicide bomb working alone, rather than an APR QAEDA operative, before someone thinks I’m saying Apr put him up to it.
The good thing is once those suicide bombers blow up, they are GONE. Not like some fucker that mails out the bombs from his cabin.
I think he is just insecure about his purchase because when the stage 2 cars and built motors hit the streets he would have been better off with a used 1320kit.
I said I’m interested in data, and that’s the reason why I began posting on AR. I said when data goes away, and personal attacks come out, I lose interest. I read your email from my phone after spending the entire day at the drag strip with 7 vehicles collecting data for our customers, tweaking a few things like our new DSG tuning, and chose to respond later. This is something thats obviously not required in our industry, and is rarely thanked, appreciated, or even counted towards consideration to buy such kits. It comes directly out of my tight marketing budget, and I try to make the most of it every time I go.
Here’s the actual conversation. You started with:
To which I responded the following:
Bottom line, I’m bored with it all. The trolling isn’t even creative. It’s just expected and repetitive.
If you want this forum to get back on track, skip the BS. Get back to the data. Get back to the fun stuff. Talk technical. Make it about the core enthusiasm and data us nerds came here for in the first place.
The forum is whatever the forum members want it to be. It’s not up to me, or you.
Anyway there isnt much technical data to discuss other than dynos . It’s winter and the only guys that are running at the track (Apr and jhm) aren’t sharing their nunbers just yet.

Can’t wait! ;D DSG tune + 1740 = very fun/fast car… I certainly appreciate everything you do for your customers and potential customers so please don’t change the approach… Also, thanks for answering my emails as well… Now post some damn vids, please ;D
This site is and always we be the most data driven website. It just isn’t easy here when the tough questions get asked and answers are danced around for days.
AR members asking Arin questions about the APR kit is totally different than FT badgering a JHM customer about some trimming or power output numbers. I hope that is obvious, but some seem that kind of behaivour is just like “others”
