I’m very seriously considering importing a B8 avant within the next year or so. I’m wondering if anyone has looked into it. I’m worried about any difficulties I might have trying to register it as is (not as an A4 avant

it would cost a fortune as I believe you would have to crash certify it (by bringing two in, letting the DOT crash one and keeping the second if it passes). Something retarded like that.

I will say this…the RS4 Avant (B7) is one of the most sought after cars as is the B5 RS4 Avant. The fact that we don’t see a bunch of those running around tells you that it’s not worth your time or money…because I don’t think anyone is out there pining for a B8 S4 Avant when they could have one of those other two cars. No offense. I own a B8 A4 Avant for the record, so don’t call me a B8 hater, or an Avant hater lol.

Hell just buy a B8 A4 S-line, then slam a 3.0T in there. There must be dozens of crashed/salvage B8 S4/Q7 3.0T/A6 3.0T out there. Hundreds maybe. That engine is everywhere. Far easier than importing.
I have an Ibis White B8 A4 Avant with 19" gunmetal VMR708 wheels, and frankly it feels like a big boat. I would never want it to be my ‘fast’ car. You guys drive 176" long B5 S4 Avants, you and your brother. The B8 is TEN INCHES LONGER. It’s almost C5 A6 size, like your dad’s S6. Big boats.

B6/7 S4 Avant and supercharge it plus headers. Mid 12’s at least. Or go full retard and do an engine and body panel swap on a B7.
Or just get an AMG E63 wagon and be faster than anything here. Would still cost less than importing an Avant!

The cost associated with importing a european vehicle, albeit there are loopholes and they are tough to find. America seems to be a bit more lenient than we are.
Other thing you could do is find a smashed b8 sedan and buy a b8 avant and swap everything over.
I know for myself the next car will be a wagen and that wagen will be the AMG E63 as long as its still available when this lease is finished.
E63 with a chip you will be running very low 11 second quarters.
