Anyone need some stock RS4 wheels?

Price dropped to $999 for local pickup of the OEM RS4 wheels

including the tires?

No, sorry. Rims only

I transferred the snows over to some other rims that I had

Still have to raise the car up and space the rears out a bit.

lol it’s looking pretty low

Yeah, I lowered it a bit too much in the late fall, and have no intent in getting under the car and fighting with the spanner wrenches until the weather warms up a bit and the snow melts. Ive had enough shredded knuckles from those things in warm weather, nevermind the slushy cold mess that it is right now.

It was a blast this winter, though. Never had any issues with it, even during the largest snowfalls. Quattro + snow tires - ESP is a blast.

Was there ever a machined version of the OEM RS4 wheel from Audi?

Not trying to create competition for myself, but are these real or replicas? I guess they could also be refinished new, but the guy is listing them as BRAND NEW.

Just emailed the guy to ask him about the machined finish and to send a pic of the size stamping. Looking closely at the lip, I dont think they are OEM RS4s. Mine are smooth to the lip, and his have a indented area.

BTW, there are TPS sensors with the wheels. I dont know if they work, because I havent used them in two years.

I don’t think those other ones are OEM at all. ET 26=wrong. Finish = wrong. spokes = wrong.

The OEM wheels look soooo good.

I called him too, but no answer. I just find it pretty funny that someone would so clearly state OEM in their listing, when it is probably pretty clear to them that they are not OEM. I have never seen a replica 19x9 with offset in the 20s, so he is likely lying about that too.

He probably bought them on the basis of them being OEM. Realised he got conned, probably cutting his losses.

Thanks Saki, but to each his own.

Btw, no “new” wheel from any company or manufacturer is completely original at this point. Over the last few decades practically every design imaginable (that’s both somewhat aesthetically pleasing and functional) has been released in some form, either on a production car or in the aftermarket. And no matter what, you are starting with a circle… You can only reinvent the wheel so many times.

I know for fact that the SNA wasn’t specifically copied from any other wheel because I helped out with the design. They showed me a CAD drawing…the space between the spokes was slightly narrower and the lip of the wheel protruded out slightly like some ADV one piece wheels along with some other minor differences…I asked to change a few of those things based on what I thought would look better aesthetically, not based on trying to copy some exact wheel. Obviously their was a lot more involved than that but you can shoot me a PM and I’ll be happy to explain.

Some companies like rotiform and others are not denying they take inspiration from some very popular classic wheels. But almost all of those wheels are either not available anymore or were never made in sizes to fit modern cars and clear modern big brakes. That’s where they come in. I know you hated my VCE’s, but while growing up and in Europe, I learned to love that rally/dtm style of wheel. I’m glad I had them on the RS because not only were they different and cool, they help me realize that our cars look best with a convex wheel with a center drop or a semi-concave wheel like the stock ones to help accentuate the arches in my opinion.
And that’s all it is and we’re all entitled to our own.

And I’m glad you think the new one’s are horrible but just so you know, they actually weigh less than the forged SNA.

Matching the wheel to the car is of utmost importance, in my opinion. There are some wheels that just look spectacular sitting on the rack, that end up looking terrible on a certain car. Then there are other wheels that look funny on their own, but match the car perfectly. I have gone through a TON of wheels, looking for that perfect wheel for the A6, that no one else has. OEM RS4 wheels look amazing on the car. However, they are on half the Audis and VW on the road, in some form (most replicas).

I love most of the Rotiform wheels, and really appreciate their homage to the classic designs. At the same time, there are only a few of their wheels that would actually look good on my car. And the ones I like are ridiculously priced.

In the end, wheel experimentation costs a lot of money, and doesnt always turn out right. I recently purchased a set of wheels for $500, then spent another $1200 for a refinish and tires, only to be displeased with them when mounted. I try to do as many photoshops as possible before any purchase, but it doesnt always look the same.

Anyway, in the end it only matters what YOU like. Who cares what others think. One thing is for sure, if you mount any wheel that looks different from the norm, you are going to have a lot of people who love them, and a lot that hate them.

Wow quite a response by maxbhp

Do you have a financial interest in rotiform or are you just their best customer. I can’t remember who owns it. I thought it was the guy who used to sell the vf superchargers.

Anyway yes I thought those old bubble hubcap looking wheels were hideous on the rs4. Yes I thought the sna wheels looked great. Your new wheels I am not sure I was thinking of the right ones. Maybe I saw a thread where you floated a photo of an idea that was hideous again and assumed you went ahead with them. The photo you just posted on quattrofail those wheels don’t look that bad. The sna crush them though.

So when is your amd supercharger getting installed?

No financial interest in rotiform whatsoever. Do you have one in being wrong? Or on just being senile? It’s lines like “So when is your Amd supercharger being installed?” that make you seem that way.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why you would ask me about an Amd supercharger? Since you are an amazing internet archivist, please find and post anything that has to do with me and that company or blower…
All I can think of is when I stopped by a local tuner of mine to talk about some custom downpipes for my buddies Aston Martin (Bbi), I was surprised to find a supercharged RS4 they were working on, which I posted up about. You see, that’s what forums are for…sharing information rather than just pissing matches. And for the record, I am familiar with JC and other parts he has engineered…my $ wouldn’t be going in that direction regardless.

Now you want to call me out regarding the VF blower. Go do your amazing internet detective work and find all of those threads. I ACTUALLY drove Tyson’s car like 5 yrs ago and it was a joke…as I posted and explained to anyone that asked. But wait…I’m going to pick up one of those too in your dream world.

Time to do your research on my MRC experience. Since I actually flew to England, visited MRC and road in their supercharged car for a few days, I feel I was qualified when I posted my thoughts on that one…

I’ve DRIVEN a buddies APR supercharged car a few times and posted about my thoughts…am I getting one of those too? I’m not sure how I’m going to fit them all on my car at once but we’ll try.

And why no question about my JHM supercharger? If I was to go forced induction, I would probably lean toward them since it will be centrifugal and will have semi-local to me support.
In fact, I bet you didn’t know that Dan at JHM calls me regularly to update me on the status of it, his engine rebuild, and variations of our tunes (since I have had the beta tune for over 18 months with no problems, all with various other parts such as cat-back only, plus downpipes, etc…). Why do you think the newly released tune is almost identical to the v6 a-box?

In fact, Dan called me only yesterday to let me know he was sending out the cable to update my tune, but after a long discussion we both decided I should keep the beta tune I have right now so we can continue to monitor and base the slight changes made to the new release.

It seems to me the only reason you have animosity towards me is because I post on a forum you got yourself banned from…weird and childish. You seem to have a plethora of good info and use it to help a lot of people out in the community, but why you always so mad bro? I guess haters gonna hate. As I said before, to each his own Starscream.

You’re nuts max. Seriously. I thought you were the guy waiting for the amd blower? There were three of you on qfail and I can’t get an update out of anyone.

And I never said anything about you and vf… I said Brian (can’t remember username) was one of the rotiform guys, and he used to be the beta vf guy (s4 kit) before ngng.

Chill out man. The law getting you down or something? Maybe take a vacation.

Say hi to mick for me. We miss his antics. The ‘lulz on other forums’ thread has really slowed down.

P. S. Don’t you get tired of blowing up at me without merit? You already did this once on rs246 then apologized. I think someone needs to look in the mirror. For the record I don’t have anything against you, not even your quattrofailiphilic nature. I think you’re a pretty interesting forum member with some great stuff done to a great looking car. I dont like those old wheels is all… But guess what you’ve got lots more blowing up to do if you blow up at anyone who didn’t like them!

New wheels look good here…

LOLs at the ‘apology for blowing up’…more like I used some friendly urban slang and said “not to be a pussy” when referring to you not wanting to get a CC or dyno or something like that, I honestly don’t remember. You got upset at me for calling out your manhood or something and were offended by that. I did apologize for using a word that offended you, and I still mean that, along with everything else I say.
Not sure why you take it as blowing up…just minor banter to me. You love to give it, but it seems you can’t take it on the other end. Ain’t no one angry on my side and I don’t see the reason for either of us to apologize in this case.

And still not sure where the Amd stuff is coming from…recheck your sources and get back to me on that one.

Brian and VF? I have no clue since I never followed the S4 scene and only met Brian when I realized Rotiform was a few blocks from my office one day a few years ago and I was looking for aftermarket wheels for my RS. At most I am to rotiform what you are to JHM…a fan and now a friend.

I don’t have a problem at all with you Saki and enjoy reading your posts, but didn’t like seeing myself referred to as “whats his face from qf” when you’re obviously on that forum enough to know my name if you know what wheels I have and when I have them (and my name was also the post above you from Fazzio)
Again, it makes it seem you just have a dislike for anyone that posts on that site.
Yes, the lulz has slowed down there and with that, the forum itself, but it is a site that moves fast and is full of great contributing members as well.

This can be our formal introduction and I appreciate the compliments on my car. I’ve put a lot of time and work into it and plan to keep it for the long haul. i hope to be posting some more on your forum over here.

And btw, just started a vacation this week…wife is due with baby no. 3 literally any day now.

Hey Saif! Congrats on #3! Well, pre-congrats lol.

Still loving these Rotiforms and your unique choices in wheel setups. We build our cars the way we envision them, and that’s all that matters. We should all try to stay civil since we all share a common interest in this great automobile. No need for the he-said-she-said routine.

Later!

PRICE DROPPED TO $899 on the OEM RS4 wheels.

Come on guys, my Audi needs a new transmission! Everything MUST go!

^^^which Audi…both?

Seeing as they are C5 A6 4.2s, you could definitely assume that

But no, only the S6, at the moment. I am trying to raise money to bring it back from retirement.

On a funny note, I have owned three of the C5 4.2 cars, and all three have had the tranny blow up. They are definitely not the strong point of the car.
