Thinking of trying GLD again since it opens a week earlier then Byron. Saturday looks like the best day for a low DA. So if anyone wants to meet up let me know.
Wish I could, man. But this weekend is out for me. I haven’t even had a chance to install my new intake yet. Hopefully the conditions are good if you make it up there. Keep us posted.

well I said this last time I went, and I’ll say it agin…NEVER going back! This place is a joke! Puddles everywhere, track prep is terrible, little rocks all over the staging area. I had a -900 DA and all I did off the line is spin. I dont have a problem with traction at any other track, only this one. Best run with my car getting sideways at launch like it was a rwd mustang was 11.90. From now on its Byron or Joliet for me.
Yeah GLD is known for being a disaster opening weekend. They’re desperate to get the cash flowing again after winter so they will open it as long as the strip is dry.
I had a few friends go up there Sunday and they said the same thing. GLD as usual.
Go up there on one of the RSD nights. It’s supposed to be open for everyone but they will literally stop everyone in the staging lines and let the Chi grudge racers come through in fucking packs of 50 whenever they feel like it. Then they let the bikes run constantly and those dipshits always seem to dump parts down the track so it’s shut down for an hour searching for screws. The place is seriously money hungry like no other track.
Damn. Sorry to hear that. Looks like we will have to meet you out at Byron/Rt 66. I didn’t have any traction issues at GLD until my most recent visit when I was spinning through second gear and the employees didn’t seem to give a shit. Guess I got lucky for my first few visits.

Why dont you go to US131? that’s a pretty nice track. granted i havent been up there in about 12 years, but i have some friends that have 7-9sec grudge cars and run them there sometimes.
That sucks. Like Ynnekdude said, I never had any traction issues until last time we met there, and then it was just like you described. I’d hoped that was an aberration, since the track is only about 40 minutes from my house. Had been thinking of heading there this weekend, but I guess I won’t bother.
Let us know if you decide to head back to Byron or Joliet - I might just sack up and make the (long) drive…

Last second decided to go to rt 66 today. With about a -100 DA ran a 11.658 @118.79 Only down side is had about a 10mph head wind. Still can’t get prime’s 60’ I had 1.67 Prime’s was 1.64
Headwind for us too. Sucks .
