JHM Stg1 B6 S4: 11.96@116 (with baby seat)
APR RS4 1320: 11.83@116 (no back seat at all)
APR S5 (4.2 V8) 1320: 11.92@117 (full interior AFAIK)
And for teh lulz, PES M90 RS4: 12.65@110
well the S5 and RS4 engine are brother sister (I will let you decide who is bitch) so comparisons make sense since we don’t have any S5 JHM data yet.
All of the other forced induction kits have translated pretty well from RS4 to S5. JHM being a centrifugal blower may beit the RS4 a bit more thanks to it’s RPMs so we will see. I would be shocked if Jason doesn’t run 11.7 @ 118 with the stage 1 S5 kit on his car when he goes to Sacramento. In fact, I wonder when he is going?
As for bigserve, 1320 kit is nice that it’s intercooled so that can help a bit. The JHM stage 1 kit can probably be had for the exact same money you’d get for selling the 1320. Then you have an upgrade path for another $4,000 to go to 600-650 hp (vs the approximately 525 hp in JHM stage 1) if you decide to go JHM stage two + IC
That would make some sense to me. Going 1320 to 1740 is going to cost $10,000. No matter how you slice it.
Looks like that is the way to go. I have been out of the loop for so long I dont know where JHM is at with their S5 kit.
I would have to list it, then find time to dump the car at the shop to remove the kit (they will probably charge 1k just to remove it). Then get the JHM stage II asap!
^ you should just have JHM remove the APR kit and install their S/c kit all at the same time. It’s cut the labor in half at least when compared to removal and re-install. That’s all biased on when/if their kit is released. But it’s obvious that JHM will have a S5 kit imo.
And yes this would be best. They will also be able to sell the kit for you in all likelihood. If they can make a grand on the resale, and charge the new guy install it would be worth it for them.
