who knows. 10.anything takes about 550-575 whp in cars this heavy. That’s a stretch.
If these 1740 kit cars can trap 125 like the other rs4 kits, that will be a huge win for apr because lots of people like apr for being cozy and familiar. If you’re giving up only 10-20 whp and a tenth… APR will win lots of the business over jhm and aviva and tts.
Wonder if tts will have a supercharger for the rs5. Their r8 4.2 kit looks bonkers. Twin blowers.
I’m really thinking of getting a couple-year old RS5 sometime down the road. Then immediately adding the 1740. I just can’t think of another car I would want for the money. And yes, if I had moar, I’d be in Prime’s situation looking for an R8 V10.
My dads RS4 at Englishtown with him in it was 4,029lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. His S4 with a 1/4 tank of gas was 4,180lbs. I would have to say the RS5 has gotta be over 4k… The R8 i’ve seen some numbers as high as 3700lbs.
Just mentioning the word “supercharger” starts a fight at home over financials and home projects that I don’t want to prioritize. I’ll have to find a way to do it secretly. What’s a forum?
There’s a huge world beyond the forums. Just follow JHM’s facebook page - lots of cars on there that I can’t link to the forums. Unless they are being ninja. Also, APR’s reach is worldwide. Am I right in thinking that 1740 development is going on in South Africa and Australia to develop tunes for hot and high?
But great point about how many of those guys in the AZ thread are going to throw their money down.
Wasn’t the manufacturer of their 1320 kit based in Australia as well? Assuming they dropped them, which of the remaining aftermarket SC companies is making the 1740 and where are they located?
