He interned at APR in the early 2000’s. it was well before my time.
was that when apr was a non profit organization looking out for the enthusiasts rather than the money hungry evil empire it has become now? lol
based on what i saw on facebook, an update is imminent. coincedental timing with the revo b8.5 tune? i think not ;D
what was on FB?
ya i don’t see it either. link?
my safari at the office is having java issues and wont give me the img link but this picture was posted up http://s911.photobucket.com/user/richib86/media/165428_691195307334_347158434_n_zps1b1f0ebc.jpg.html
Here’s the pic. It’s going to just be a teaser, since the 4.2 FSI is ahead of the 3.0T in the timeline APR laid out. We haven’t seen much from Arin of late on the RS5. They had a picture of the kit on an RS5 a few months ago. Back when they did the conference I believe it was on the RS5 and R8.

yep exactly, but at that time it was not mounted up to any s4’s. seems like the s4 progress is where the rs5 progress was at the conference? makes waterfest seem like a realistic debut date
I heard waterfest 2015 for the 3.0? They’re going to do the RS5, then the R8, then the new RS4, then the old RS4, then the M3…then they’re going to look at the 3.0T
seems highly unlikely. it would make no sense for them to be as far along as fitting one to arins car with a release two years from now. that would just be silly and not fit with the rest of the stuff they r&d for platforms. i dont see them making anything new for the 3.0 two years from now, there focus will switch to whatever is most current at that time.
ill bet you two cases of coke that if its not this waterfest it will be at the dealer conference in feb
3 cases of coke Sak was just kidding.
The way this is going i’ll have a deposit on the next RS4 before a release on this thing.
i mean… its only been 2 months since the announcement of a 1740 even existing. hasnt been THAT long…
But it’s been 6 months since the announcement of an upgraded supercharger, and they even hinted before that of a Stage 3. I mean I am quite happy right now with my Stage 2, but I know i’ll be craving more power shortly.
What is 6 months so far if most of you GIAC guys have been waiting over a year for a pulley and the software for it (DSG) STILL doesn’t work properly?!? LOL
For the record I only decided to go GIAC in like February so my wait wasn’t as long as others. ;D
Really? First time I’m hearing of it. Funny, APR had the same issue with the DSG and Stage II. Took them a week or so to fix - Prime was the one that identified the problem. The forums blew up when that happened.
So are you planning on switching to APR then when they release the supercharger? Wondering why you didn’t go with APR at first, given that an upgrade to Stage III will be cheaper than switching from GIAC to APR, not to mention the cost of going with GIAC initially.
ROTFLMAO! Winner…
I’m actually glad this will take a little longer… My wife would not be happy if I had to write another check this week… lol Besides times will be much better in the fall anyway so it works in APR’s favor to wait…
I went with GIAC because i’m convinced i’ll be putting down better times than if I went APR, that is once the DSG issue is dealt with.
When it comes to Stage3, I won’t have a choice but to switch to APR but that all depends on what the Stg3 will cost. If it’s north of $7500 for just the SC, I doubt i’ll go that route.
Also, with no one giving definitive dates on release, for all I know it will be 2014, and by then I will probably be out of this car. Stage2 is plenty for the time being.
