interesting that the Golf is an ‘11 second car’ and traps high teens, yet the R8 walks it at speeds on the highway. The R8 would put a quick couple of cars on it from a dig too I’d imagine, adding up to 4 cars or so in the quarter mile combined with this highway pull. Would be interesting to see a TVSr1320 R8 run down Santa Pod.

Make it happen Arin…you guys would (with a mid 11 second @ 120 MPH) embarass VF and Stasis. The best times they’ve posted are in the 12s lol.

12.39 @ 116 at 63 fahrenheit and 780 feet density altitude with 1.95 60 foot. So that car/that kit is good for maybe 12.2 @ 117. Not impressive at all…and if a little TVSr1320 could crush it…damn. Shows what happens when your tune isn’t right…doesn’t matter what the hardware is. I don’t need to preach about that though :slight_smile:

It’s got way more than that treatment man…I would doubt they would push that much power on stock internals.

You’re right, I didn’t think it through. Although a Golf is only 3400 lbs iirc.

You raise a good point, euro, and hopefully Arin will be back with the full specs of both cars…

not so sure guys. Those cars are crazy with a tune and exhaust.

Here’s the stage III equipment diagram…I don’t see rods there. Big turbo, fuelling, cooling, exhaust manifold/downpipe, but I don’t see internals.

yeah stg 4 for apr is built motor, like the 10 seocnd golf r they posted recently. The 2.0t’s with K04s stock are probably fairly beefed up, iirc the old TT 1.8T’s with 225bhp had a K04 stock and were a stronger motor.

It’s the 1320 and it’s basically the RS4 kit kit adapted to the engine. It’s not something we currently sell, but we had someone that wanted it anyways, so we tried it out.

The Golf R has our upcoming GTX2867R turbo kit. Stock injectors. Stock internals. Turbo kit, intake, exhaust, intercooler.

I was told the R8 would jump on the Golf R hard, but on this run (the one with the flames) they let the R spool for a split second before taking off. :slight_smile:

As for pod, I’ll have to see if they can get down there one day. Would be awesome!

I haven’t made one yet. Although I do have one for the “MaxR” which was a more involved build, including cracking into the motor and head.
