Let me know when they come down to about $25k ;D

Great post west. Good to see there are options for the S6 the question is are these just the RS turbos or is there more to the turbos. If the tuning was included for the 10k price that would not be too bad but 13k sounds like a lot. Still for 150hp thats not a bad deal

The thing to remember is the RS7 is supply constrained, so it’s going to be absurdly expensive (over $100k) for a long time. If you want a 700 HP sleeper daily driver with AWD, you can get it done for about $65k now.

That S6 is local to me and the owner is a douchebag. The guy did all he could to convert his S6 to a RS6 and it doesn’t look right. Plus he left the RS6 badges on it. He also owns a Golf R and he tried to make it track ready.

I am really not impressed with the results for how much money that they are asking for.

Also I am pretty sure that the S6/7 4.0TT engine is not built as well as the S8/RS7 4.0TT engine so how long can the S6/7 4.0TT handle that kind of increase in power. If the RS4 and R8 1740 SC kit is a good indicator then I would pass on this kit.

I researched this awhile back, but I recall the RS7 gets uprated pistons (with DLC coating) and internals, uprated Turbos with a dedicated heat exchanger (and some head work for the pistons).

Another weak point that might show some failure is the DSG transmission. They really should have just put the RS7 TC transmission in there, it really is that good.

RS7 and S8 share the same engine.

I think there is serious doubt among motorsports shops that the transmission won’t overheat. From my guy:

[quote] The one we did with the APR software without the turbos and the Milltek turbo back system put down 642 lb ft of torque at the wheels on 91 octane purchased at the Chevron near us. The software has been changed 5 times by APR for him since because of various maladies in driving like going into limp mode for over temp on the exhaust. Impressive numbers but will it last?

I suppose you’re better off with a used 2013 S8 for $75k.

All great information. I didnt know all that. Knowing that seems to change things a bit.

Wow knowing that kinda takes the rest of the wind out of the sails.

I posted a video a back from Audi that walked through all the differences. It wasn’t a short video…

Today Audi announced an “S8 Plus” model with the RS7 engine at 600 HP and 550 ft/lb. It’s like a $40k premium.

For the lazy http://blog.caranddriver.com/audi-s8-plus-is-exactly-what-it-sounds-like-an-s8-plus-85-horsepower/

If ypu still have the link I would love to see it

Even though the bulk of the power seems to be coming from the turbos putting in bigger main bearings is no joke and that there is a big deal motor wise. The pistons sounded like he was mumbling about those but it was mentioned that those were improved.

lots of good info in the video.
