Yes - 1st video 2nd gear roll/higher rpms where pulley doesn’t have as much advantage… and Pete also slams/shifts gears faster than I have ever seen any human do. You can barely see his shift on the pbox graph. I can’t do that for the life of me. Sorry. I suck. lol.
Last video… 3rd gear roll… lower rpms… 3-4 shift- little easier.
Pete is also running GIAC stage 2 software… on a stock pulley though. hits 14psi very quick (3000 rpms and peaks to about 15-16ish at 6200 rpms.) Afterwards… it is just bypass intervention.
We will try and replicate these runs one of these days with cars/drivers switched to show difference that his shifting makes.
I can out shift Tsivas but a pretty decent margin. So with the 2nd to 3rd I got a lead on him. From 3rd he’d have me by a car tops. The two cars are very close
Nice vids guys, thanks for sharing… I would think the stg II tune allows for more than 15-16 after 6200… The new pulley will only spin the blower faster so it will see more boost and sounds like more bypass… What was timing like? What was da?
I was expecting the car to fair a bit better than it did, although it has ~900 miles and I haven’t quite got a feel for it yet.
A couple things I noticed:
-8 speed tranny is a bit awkward, doesn’t seem to shift as quickly as you’d expect… hard to find the right gear for a roll, all of them are short
-car is explosive from a dig, launch control on this car involves brake torque-ing and letting her rip… when I nailed a launch, everyone was playing catch up
-she doesn’t seem to breathe well up top
the M5 is pretty wicked, the few times I launched well I’d jump ahead by 1-2 cars, till about 80mph when I’d get reeled in and walked… easy bus length by 140
I bet you do a bit better by around 4K to 5K miles. In addition once you get more familair with the trans/shift points etc you will probably do better as well.
I’m sure Audi has all sorts of nanny controls holding you back in stock form. Probably more so than the M5 in stock form since your model is essentially the flagship luxo model vs. the M5 being the middle man instead of the 7 series platform.
During the roll races does the ecu or tcu prevent you from brake boosting?
