I’ve done a search on this site concerning water/methanol injection. Tremendous amount of knowledge here. Didn’t find anyone using the above mentioned system. The two alleged reasons I’m seeking opinions for that system is because it is supposed to be the only one on the market that is built for direct injection engines and also can shoot 100% ethanol.
Thanks much.
Must have missed that question as i gave up in that thread after “Dragon Vette”
I have yet to run my additional jet to the intake pipe which i think will be very beneficial since it will lower the IATs. Right now since i am direct port, the meth system is primarily benefiting me in the combustion state. I have no issues with knock running a 93 tune daily on 91. I’ve been meaning to see how it runs with 91 on the 100 program, but my schedule has been too hectic to get out and log. There are not many roads i can safely drive on at the speeds for logging with days I don’t have my kids in the car.
Compared to a Turbo car running off manifold pressure, how do you control it ?
Same way ? I know it works wonders for keeping the valves clean. Had it the AEM Kit on my S3.
the aquamist uses both of these signals and determines when it should inject, the b8 also uses the rail pressure to determine injection since its a DI engine.
Not sure honestly… I know they had a presence in the US at one time and thought they had people in the old Stasis HQ? Not sure where the actual calibration/tuning takes place…
I didn’t see that he was on vacation over here so probably not fair that he can’t reply and I won’t post on vendorzine… Just thought it was funny/ironic that he thought that was what was done when he originally put the kit on and got tuned…
No, you bought an off the shelf tune like everyone else… So now he’s going back to the dyno for what I’m not sure, other than to waste money… He could see the impact via data logs and some pulls on the street or strip but whatever it’s his money…
Ditch the hood hole
Ditch the meth
Ditch the crazy brake setup
Ditch the monster wheels
Ditch the headers
If he ran a simple giac2 + intake he would be faster.
Hes just one of these people that gets sold VERY easily and will jump on stuff. He also can’t sit still, so he ends up with a very busy modlist, but he’d be faster with a simple list.
I do feel for him over the Apr thing. Who knew Apr would be basically insolvent and would kill their development of the DSG tune required to make a facelift dsg car fast. That wasn’t his fault. All of the rest was.
We have some TT people running Aquamist. It is the system I am considering if I ever do Meth Inject. It comes out of England. I have had an email conversation with them. The system is pricey but top end. One particular TT guy on VWVortex I talked to said it liked it.
Brian, You’re probably right if done correctly however keep in mind who we are talking about… Do you think he or the shop has a game plan? The tune isn’t changing so it’s constant and on race tune with race gas any mixture probably won’t help much at all… So testing the race tune on pump gas while spraying is what he needs to do, but that probably won’t yeild the results that race gas would give him on the race tune… So that leaves the w/m ratio and how much he is going to spray… To test right on the dyno will take hours, lots of tweaking the mixture and jets, lots of logging and interpretation, along with patience… Sorry don’t see any of the above happening… Given his “quest” for an 11.xx slip he’s better off just turning the meth off and running race gas on the race tune… So again w/o a tune change not sure what this will accomplish? We’re also assuming he logs correctly which at this point given what he has shared is a HUGE assumption in itself… At least wheel spin won’t be an issue
Also, I said street or strip and would prefer the strip for many reasons as I’m not advising him to do 100+ pulls around town but some folks have spots they can safely test and if not that’s what the strip is for… Just my .02
