Hey guys!!

I’m new to this forum as of last night, but I am the proud owner of a 2008 5.2 v10 S8. I have lots of questions for other v10 owners…

Forgive me if I’m posting this in the wrong spot/category.

So about a month ago I was paddle shifting down a long stretch, nothing too hard (not redline)- I baby this car most of the time and only open it up on occasion. Anyhow when i got to 3rd gear the CEL started flashing. It sounded like a wrx and there was a very obvious vibration on acceleration. The light went off after a few minutes… But the vibration and wrx/misfire sound is still there under heavy(er) acceleration. in all modes, D/S/M

So upon HOURS of research i swapped out all 10 coil packs and all 10 sparks. Problem is still there! I’ve checked for vacuum leaks around intake manifold…nothing. I changed the N80/purge valve… nothing. No CEL but it definitely not running like it should. Super rough when cold.

I am currently running firmware 4.1.40. I know the most recent US version is 4.6.10(?) just not sure if this will correct any of these issues (obviously not the misfire).

Any insight to 1 or all of these problems would be greatly appreciated. I feel like everybody else that has experienced the misfire issue was cleared up with the parts i’ve already changed. I’m at a loss!

Its always helpful to get a good idea on a few things. So let me hit you with my first round of questions so we can all get a better idea on whats going on with the car and help get you to the answers quicker

When you say swapped you mean you put in 10 new plugs and coil packs.
How many miles are on the car
Have you ever carbon cleaned the car
When was the last fuel filter you put on the car
How long have you had the car mile wise and do you know any of the past history on the car.
Do you have a vag com cable
Where are you located… If you are worried about internet crazys just post general idea on your location so we can get an idea on weather and other geo stuff
