Hey guys how’s it going? I had a oil leak for a while that was leaking oil onto cats. I cant tell if it’s leaking from timing cover with the camshafts or the actual timing cover to the back of the engine. I titled the engine to try and see and I removed the smaller timing cover but I really can’t tell. What do you guys think?

Did you ever change the exhaust cam side vvt solenoids? Those were dumping oil onto my exhaust like crazy on both sides. I got oem replacements and leaking stopped.
It’s to my knowledge the most common cause, followed by warpy valve covers
I never changed it but I did pull the engine and it definitely looked like the rear of the timing cover but regardless I did find coolant in the oil after I pulled it so no matter what I had to pull it
How were your chain tensioner holding up on that?
They all looked fine but one of them I noticed wasnt as tight as the others when I pressed it in. I’m not sure if that really means anything but it’s the only thing I noticed out of whack on it
