anyone one here look into deleting the pcv system on their car and the sai pump? I have to replace the
whole assy that connects the two valve covers and the pcv valve it self? Im just worried about emisions,
but I guess the right resistor at the plug would kill the cel but the car prob smell like alot of gas at start up
What a crazy post. Im going to be doing this over the weekend. The JHM tune will turn off the SAI if needed. I don’t know if I need a tune update for that or not.
Ill post some of what I did next week.
Sai would be alright to get rid of if you have no cats and are tuned for it (the resistor will trick the ecu into seeing load on the pump, but it will still catch insufficient flow codes).
Definitely don’t remove the PCV system, it is a very important component for oil longevity. If anything clean and replace all of the parts in the system and install a catch can.
good heads up Beemercer. Im just going to remove the silencer in the air streem and the SAI then
Yeah im just gonna add in a catch can, I pulled everything off since it was all caked with grime,
even the sump cover under the intake manifold. I just gotta see where to hook up the can.
great Idea. The 3.0 looks to have good ventilation but getting more out can be better. Just make sure to keep the system with the proper vac needed
Nah, that little guy is already gone on my car…

^^ that broke and tb went bad, upon further inspection I saw I had a bad left side intake manifold gasket, so I took it all out even the sump cover. So when I put it all back together next month. That resonator will be a paper weight on my desk and im waiting for all my pcv piping to come in with a new purge valve
Ohhhhh I see
This is a catch can:
im gonna get something like this, although not this $200 beast…not for the audi. Maybe for my mk1
Now, I just gotta figure out the best way to plumb this up. I think I might connect to sump before it gets to pcv, now I just figure out the other end :
