AZ JHM Spotlight

Thanks for the backhanded compliment. I will look you up when I need some jrc auto parts.

  1. ouch, like saki, how bout a filter between your mind and keyboard? I wrote it because it keeps the shop safe from the potential liability of a california vehicle with illegal mods. I’m sure you’ll call JHM and ask them. I’m sure there is something to it. and I would do it too. technically, the tuner company, Eurocode, in so-cal that sells apr perfomance mods in the form of ECU or superchargers. must be very carefull. It is legal for them to modify a vehicle with these parts, just as long as it is an out of state registered vehicle.
  2. had to google: amd supercharge saki to find your thread. Sorry, I don’t know of it. I did see the one of a bunch of forum people blasting Arin at APR over everything from “the size of APR” to any irrelevent info they could insult him with.

If you were really looking out for a tuner wouldn’t you contact that tuner directly rather than blasting this (incorrect) information about them on a thread on a public forum?

Wouldn’t you further have checked your facts? Is that s5 a California car with a jhm supercharger? Any supercharger? No?

Clearly you wanted your first post to be one where you show everyone how much (you think) you know.

On your bike jrc.

I’ve liked reading what you write for sometime! painfully honest and you stay on point.

You can register a vehicle in lake county, or a town like Duncan mills and avoid smog tests, but if the police needs a reason to pull you over and inspect the engine because it didn’t “sound” stock anymore, that’s when trouble happens.

Saki, yeah, I can help you out with parts, but the freight may offset the bro deal. but if you need wine…I can ship some, or advise. but can’t drink cuz my liver is effed up from a type iv hypersensativity, I’ll let you reaearch that one…from an antibiotic for an ear infection. That’s the reason I got my car. I woke up an an ambulance and after that day, Eff it, life is uncertain, better enjoy it now and fearlessly live well. then my liver got effed up, and I got past the why me stge and now I’m cool with it. My liver most likely will recover in a couple of years, but if not, eff it, I had a great job, then a great business/at times a headache, and a great wife. but I’m still here and enjoying life, just no booze…for now

(I think) the supercharger on the S5 with a california plate is not listed on youtube as the JHM brand. I’m not certain if they/jhm offers one for an S5 yet. however someone else does. the S5 is white…(I think) I got a 42" lcd tv with directv. (I KNOW)I can watch youtube even read the license plate off to you. due dillgence: search “persian candy before tuning a GTR”
then look at their other videos. (I think)If this shop is in california, then I would only have to defend myself with the truth which is alwys something good to defend yourself with. If they are not in california then the owner of the car carries the liability of the modification. That tuner company advertises the brand of supercharger, from another tuner company that I do like, so take a guess
see the video and form your own opinion. (I think) you will agree, you might even admit it in front of everyone on this forum.
I’ve been reasearching a way around this smog issue. yes, my best idea is that a california car, such as the one on the video, get it tested, but at the tuner’s expense. if it passed, they can be the only LEGAL supercharger, and the state may even grant it for other models as well, with one test. another scenario is to have the supercharger manufacturer offer a reduced price and then the customer can pay for the certification. but either way, the supercharger company has a captive market if they want the mod and wish to be legal, it’s exclusive to them only until another tuner decides to also try.

barely passed high school and started working for my father right after high school, like three days later. not smart, but deviant…yes!

Not sure why we are talking Apr in a jhm thread.

Anyway are you sure about what Apr has or hasn’t done in the way of certification of their kit? They have had it approved in Europe.

There is no JHM supercharger or even beta right now. I have called them multiple times on this last year before finally succumbing to APR (with the JHM tune). Fitment is different than the S4/RS4 so it needs to be developed, I was willing to have them just slap one on and i drive around as the beta car. Fortunately they seem serious about the 4.2 S5 and once they finish it on the RS4, S5 is next! ;D

I wonder what a used APR 1320 would go for? $6-8k?

stay on point saki, it related to a Nevada plate and a california tuner company.someone wrote about mods installed on california registered vehicles within the state of california. not singling out any company and how those companies may possibly be using a loophole to prevent someone getting busted=smart company! then you wrote a diatribe about my soapbox, though true, but that’s you  now I have to defend myself with truth

I read about the kit with some austrian cert. or something like that, but Saki, we are discussing a tuner shop in a state that doesn’t like tuners. not Europe, location of people that are on some audi based forums and insult “pinkberry”, but California.

california can be a lucrative market if polk data for vehicle registratiuon backs it up with enough car count to warrant going after the market.

Perhaps the Nevada plate is Legit and someone commutes over the Kaiser pass during spring summer and fall.

I stayed in the fifth arondismont twice…

Fifth Arrondissement maybe? Paris? Tea in China? On point?

Can’t wait to see the JHM kit for the RS4. Also, a JHM supercharger on a fully built motor… that would surely be impressive.

How did Paris make its way into this thread? lol

seriously… Talk about a crazy non sequitur.

This might be the most odd set of posts I’ve read in a while. ???
