Thought this was interesting - the 3.0tfsi from the B8 S4 into a B6 A4…
You know that is very interesting, considering the responses I got when I asked everyone on here about the possibilities from that motor…
You weren’t even talking about a swap at first, you were telling us about a motor that came out in 2009.
Go ask the OP about the money and the knowledge you need to do this, not to mention the fabrication and equipment. Other than that what is the point of having a 3.0t in an B6 A4 chassis? I could see and S4…or I guess if your A4 she’ll already has beefier suspension and brakes, but a plain old A4.
I guess what I’m trying to establish is that a normal person that doesn’t have certain equipment/shops or skills directly available to them should just go buy a 3.0T S4.
I’m not even sure how they are going to get all of the comfort features of the car to work without a dash that looks like a Christmas tree.
Yea I know what you mean, and I know nothing about that kinda stuf I was just saying it wasn’t that crazy for me to ask about a same size motor for info if someones doing a swap on it. I’m curious to see how its going to turn out. It seems to me like it would be a better swap to do over a 2.7 if someone were going to venture down that road.
Easy nostredamus lol
You didn’t ask about the possibilities… You started a thread about the motor. The new engine for the b8. And said you were glad it wasn’t a v8. Then you asked about swapping parts from 3.0t to 3.0 a4, as if it was the old b6 motor with a tvsr1320 buried in the manifold.
Anyway I think the swap in that thread is a bit wasteful. Putting a motor like that in a $4,000 car that is now 9 years old… I don’t get it? Unless one really really loves the b6 a4. Throw it in a b7 s4 with recaros and nav and with a busted up 4.2. That’d be neat and a little more worth the time.
Tomato, tamato, lol I was just looking for info in general. But your right I think it is a bit much to put a new motor in a car thats getting to be a bit older. I think swapping that in B7 S4 is an amazing idea! Someone should definitly do that.
