I asked Eurowise to make a metal coolant elbow for our cars and they came through pretty quickly. They were able to modify an existing part they already produce.

Full disclosure: I was given a “prototype” to test, but I’m not making any money off of this. I just want to spread awareness about the availability of the part because I know it’s been a weak area on these cars since day one. It’s been daily driven on my RS4 for about a month now with no problems.

The part is not cheap compared to the plastic version, but it’s a lifetime part that you won’t have to worry about breaking again.

This is a metal replacement for part number 1J0121087B , also known as the coolant distribution pipe.

Awesome. I broke this on my B6 and it happened on a friday and killed my weekend. Definitely on my to do list.

That is ok. He saw mine with the spare nipple a while ago I think. I still need to get a cap for that extra nipple. Wonder how many times that I can type nipple before someone comments.

Mine broke during QDM. It split underneath on the last day. We were able to Jerry rig with some shit from home depot (which btw is still working). As we were fixing it to keep running he made the comment about it not being metal. Im hoping he got the idea from that. Would seem kind of cool.

Anyways once the first one was produced he sent me a pic and told me they would be for sale soon.

Yep, that is where the idea stemmed from. I broke my nipple in 2015 and Jimmy told me he’s seen a lot of them break.

edit: I had the idea when mine originally broke. I went looking for a metal replacement and I couldn’t find any so I just replaced it with a plastic one. Little did I know there’s a company 5 miles from where I live that had a metal part that would fit with slight modification. This year after I figured out how common of a failure it is I asked Eurowise to make it. The owner was really enthusiastic about it and made it happen really quickly. It fits a shitload of cars besides the B6/7 S4/RS4 too.

How do you break a nipple? I went through a lot of nipples during my single years and I mean A LOT, never broke one though…
