B6 S4 4.2 Engine+Tranny for sale $6500. (oh...it includes an MTM supercharger)

[quote]http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/pts/2837342535.html

This is a complete engine, transmission and MTM Supercharger. The engine and transmission have roughly 20K miles on them. The MTM Supercharger has roughly 13K miles on it. I am including the front sub-frame, all hoses, wiring and air-box along with the necessary RS-6 Fuel pump.

The ECU is not included as it was damaged in an electrical fire. You will need to send your ECU to Joe Hoppen Audi once you have installed everything.

Please call if interested.
Thanks!

Tranny - $2000. So essentially $4k for the long block? How does one assess how good the block is regarding scored cylinders/timing chains?

kind of a sloppy belt system for mtm… looks like it’d slip like a bitch with that garbage belt wrap.

wish someone would buy it so we could find out what blower they used, never seen that info

lol my buddy sent this a while back.

you guys remember the the blue avant that caught fire? yeah…

damn, you’d think you could sandblast and paint all the MTM kit and sell it for 10k used without telling anyone, where’s the scammers where ya need em?

If the facts are legit, then I’d bet that motor is pristine since I’m sure that blower isn’t pushing too much and obviously is pretty low miles.

there is a beautiful red B6 S4 that Shokan has in need of an engine with perfect body. Just thought I would mention that for anyone looking at this cuz I happened to see it browsing yesterday.

Curious as To what s/c they’re running as well. I’m surprised no one has figured it out yet.

Only 20k miles on the engine and tranny? First engine must have went and this was a replacement. If someone was willing to invest a bit of time and money into this engine/tranny/SC you could easily make some money off of it. It would be hard to assess the engine condition without pulling the heads, which wouldnt be that difficult. If it’s good, which it probably is at 20k miles, put some new gaskets on, clean the entire thing up, put a new timing belt on, pullies, belts, spark plugs, coil packs, etc. Get a new OEM intake manifold and put the engine back to stock. Clean up the SC, fix anything that needed to be fixed and sell it separately. I’m sure the tranny is fine, but you could flush the fluid in it just to be safe. The new ECU would be the expensive part I imagine.

Couple grand into this thing and you could turn around and sell all of the components for $10-12k hey? What do you guys figure a person could make off of this if it was reconditioned and fixed up?

noob

Dammit, I still have my head in the Subaru game.

Ok, moving on…anything constructive to add Joe?

I’d probably guess an autorotor, but thats 100% just a guess

Just fucking with you man

What’s with the big ass idler roller? The silver one. I wonder if the trans is any good? If someone takes the motor, I will buy the transmission

there are only a few spots to tap to put the idlers on, using the larger pulley will pull the belt further around the supercharger pulley and give better belt wrap

looks like the skinny stock belt doesn’t it?

LOL, ya I know man. I am technically an Audi noob :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah definitely, and with the shit belt wrap job I’d be worried about tossing belts

but beemercer…MTM is made up of brilliant engineers who used to work at Audi? They know what they’re doing.

lol that was the rationale behind people paying $50,000 for the MTM Supercharger kit without proof of a god damn thing.

I’d be interested to see if the RS4 kit has a better belt system, the one pictured looked super rushed… like they only cared about being first, which sounds a lot like the mtm B8 piggyback system that just didnt work at all

chris ostberg raved his head off about the mtm RS4 car…but I’m not sure what that’s worth. The car had about 300 lbs removed etc. so his testing is kinda useless

The one guy who bought one that I know of (red car in Rochester) appeared to be pretty gung-ho to hit the dragstrip, and then in true supercharged 4.2 owner fashion, disappeared shortly thereafter.

this reminds me…I’ll add the MTM RS4 kit to the supercharger argument
