B6 S4 A/C Lines Removal For JHM S/C Kit

Nope wrong way to look at it! What happened happened and now you are well on your way to an 11 second car. If not 10 second!

Regarding break in, I’d for sure take your approach and let JHM break it in. And let me nowhere near the car until it’s ready for WOT I just don’t have the discipline!

Oh yeah I’m past that.

But got some good news today. As much as I’ve bashed 3Zero3 I want to say that they do stand behind their work and their word. Mistakes were definitely made but it’s good to know that they are willing to make up for them. After talking with them on the phone today, I’m happy to report that they aren’t charging me at all for the storage and my car will be ready to ship to JHM on Monday. They are charging me about an hour labor to box everything up, get the transmission in the trunk and tied down, and loaded onto the truck for about an hour of labor.

That is great news that they aren’t holding you hostage for the storage or captive for the mistakes they made. Hopefully it will be a clean break.

To be honest I bet 3zero3 is relieved to ship the car off to JHM. They have long since realized they were in over their head and began to make shit up, such as “we will need a few days to tune it” lol.

Now the car will be RIGHT from the start.

EXACTLY EURO

These third party dealer shops don’t love these monster labour intensive jobs. It’s not that profitable for them. They love guys who come in and buy a boatload of hardware with big markups on them.

Look at that PES customer from their shop…the one they say was making 600hp or whatever they said. He buys a $4000 exhaust, a $13,000 supercharger and another $3000 of miscellaneous. He pay $20,000 and they make probably $4000 dealer markup for the phone call to order the stuff. To install it, it is 12 hrs of labour at 100 bucks per , for which they’re paying their shop staff, shop costs, insurance, amortisation of equipment, tie up a lift for 2 days etc etc. They probably net out 500 dollars for the giant job…1/8 as much as they made for the earlier phone call. Hell they make 500 just ordering you a stock replica milltek cat back and drop shipping it to your house!

Good to hear 3zero3 are being reasonable about it. 100% agree with what euro said.

Their explanation of the tuning was, well because were at so and so elevation they take that extra step to make sure everything is good to go and the engine doesn’t blow because the other shop/tuner may not have taken into account all the variables they do on a daily basis.

Oh I thought this was kind of comical too. They also wanted to document everything and publicize the performance, probably in one magazine or another. That RS4 saki speaks of had an article written about it, I forget which magazine, but it’s still up on their wall as soon as you walk in the door.

The “tuning” thing is still weird though. Do these guys know who JHM is? Can they even wrap their head around the R&D they put into the 4.2 platforms? Do they know what R&D is?, just kidding about that one.

It’s foolish for them to say that they are concerened a company you just paid $20k plus to would overlook factors like that. Not to mention the man writing the tune and the safeties within is a fucking wizard…haha Their answer to your question seems like a good excuse to an uneducated customer, but that was another line of BS they tried to feed you.

Anyways I’m excited to see a good build thread…and please get us some fucking video
Try to run the car at Sac before you head back to Mount Everest

Not sure if they know of the talent behind CV but I told them they have the best tuner around. Don’t worry about the build thread or the video, all will be shared as soon as I get back home. I’m gonna try and hit the strip before I head home too. I definitely want to see the difference in time when running at 1100ft and 5800ft.

last time I checked being at elevation is going to have the opposite effect of blowing the engine. It will impair power by about 20%.

From someone that works in R&D… it is comical to see organizations that are out for a “quick win” and think that they are smarter than everyone else. They all look the same… Lots of talk, claims, bluster and hot air… A fancy non-working prototype… Very aggressive timelines that slip forever… And then failure.

^^^that’s in every business DD. Funny indeed.
